Planned Parenthood
One of the most talked about topics in the media today is the Susan G Komen Foundation controversy. The media has done a fantastic job at being the major role in politicizing the issues that revolve around Planned Parenthood funds from Susan G Komen. A countless number of judgments have been passed concerning the money that is being given to this organization and whether or not they should or should not be funded. In addition, there have been numerous complaints and rather biased stories that have been written, and issues created, surrounding this story. Although the foundation preaches to improve people’s health and aimed at women in need of help, it is very clear that these funds do benefit many people personally. Despite this fact, many unreasonable fingers have been pointed at the mismanagement and the importance of the projects, by the media, thus creating one of the largest controversies in the world. The controversy stems from one simple factor. There are people that are for life and people who are for choice. Your own personal bias is based on many factors such as religion, values, and morals. With that said, I absolutely believe that Planned Parenthood is unethical. Frankly, the most unethical of them all. Recently, republicans have called to end federal funding to Planned Parenthood, after an anti- abortion group released a series of secretive, undercover videos, which has placed a spotlight on the organization. It is about time. The videos showed medical officers from Planned Parenthood discussing the sale of fetal tissue for research. As you can expect, this has created quite the uproar and a widespread outrage all over the states. Senator Joni Ernst, a republican from Iowa, stated, “as a mother and a grandmother, the gravity of Planned Parenthood’s callous and morally reprehensible behavior can not be ignored.” This story is truly painful to hear.
