Pluto Planet Report
I'm here to talk about the little planet named Pluto. I personally think it's unfair to the planet to be named something and then drawn back, Then again they had hard evidence on to why they did it. So I am going to give you the top reasons on why they took its righteous calling of a planet back.
One of the main problems is its size. Many people thought it was too small to be called a planet and referred to it as the star. Ryan C. of the planetary society said: “
Pluto is a Disney character who has been in 48 of his own cartoons, which makes him a star, not a planet.” . The reason the size matters is because it is so small it can not clear other objects out of its path. It is now referred to as a dwarf planet. A dwarf planet orbits the sun

If Pluto were to behave like a comet, then maybe it should be classified as a comet. But if it behaves like a planet, then it should be classified as a planet.
I am going to talk about a past situation that had a big impact on the final decision in “kicking pluto out”. In 1801, a icyrocky body similar to Pluto was discovered between Jupiter and Mars named Ceres. A year later Ceres had its planethood revoked because it was very obvious that it really was just the largest member of what is now called the asteroid belt. If Ceres doesn't get to be called a planet neither should pluto.
They have almost exact same characteristics and yet it only took them a year to revoke its planethood.
Finally, I am going to end this with my opinion on pluto. Pluto definitely should not be considered a planet again.I don’t feel Pluto should be considered a planet any longer. It is 10x smaller than all other planets, its composition is mainly rock and ice while the other planets are either gas giants or all rock, and it really just fits in better as a dwarf planet or some type of large asteroid or comet. If you compare each fact about
Pluto to those of the main eight planets, it just doesn’t fit in. None of them even

This mostly was for why NASA fun the asteroid studies. I thought they should because it would help with protection, resources and our lifestyle. The resources would help a lot during inventions and buildings and other things. The lifestyle can change our way of life like technology it can make us more advance such as more durable stuff that can last longer than what we have. We could make more building that would be a little bit more stable. This all can help us because it can make all of us advance than other states. Thank you for reading this…

NASA hasn’t made any kind of discovery in recent years that’s been of any kind of use to us. Sure, finding out Pluto doesn’t really count as a planet is cool and all, but how does that help us in anyway?! It doesn’t make a difference if we know how many planets there are right now, what matters is that we use our money to help stop destroying the Earth & try to fix the damage we’ve done. It’s great that we have the technology and skills to travel into space, but it’s becoming unaffordable and we have bigger expenses on our hands.…

For many years different scientist have been researching and coming together on whether the planet Pluto should be considered a “dwarf planet” or a part of the regular planets. Pluto was discovered in 1930 by Clyde W. Tombaugh. Astronomers believed that Pluto was to be considered a planet. Soon they concluded that their evidence didn’t support their reasoning.…

Pluto is a dwarf planet orbiting the Sun, with about a sixth of the mass of the Moon and a third of its volume. Like other Kuiper belt objects, which are generally outside Neptune's orbit, Pluto is primarily rock and ice. It has an elongated and highly inclined orbit that takes it from 49 astronomical units (7.4 billion km) away from the Sun down to 30, closer than Neptune. Light from the Sun takes about 5.5 hours to reach it at its average distance. Since its discovery in 1930, it had been considered the ninth planet, but the International Astronomical Union came up with a new definition for planets in 2006 that excluded Pluto after many other similar icy objects were found, including Chiron and Eris. Pluto has five known moons: Charon (about…

    Pluto No Longer a Planet

The distant, ice-covered world is no longer a true planet, according to a new definition of the term voted on by scientists today "Whoa! Pluto's dead," said astronomer Mike Brown, of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, as he watched a Webcast of the vote. "There are finally, officially, eight planets in the solar system." In a move that's already generating controversy and will force textbooks to be rewritten, Pluto will now be dubbed a dwarf planet. But it's no longer part of an exclusive club, since there are more than 40 of these dwarfs, including the large asteroid Ceres and 2003 UB313, nicknamed Xena—a distant object slightly larger than Pluto discovered by Brown last year. "We know of 44" dwarf planets so far, Brown said. "We will find hundreds. It's a very huge category." A clear majority of researchers voted for the new definition at a meeting of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in Prague, in the Czech Republic. The IAU decides the official names of all celestial bodies. The tough decision comes after a multiyear search for a scientific definition of the word "planet." The term never had an official meaning before. What Is a Planet Today? According to the new definition, a full-fledged planet is an object that orbits the sun and is large enough to have become round due to the force of its own gravity. In addition, a planet has to dominate the neighborhood around its orbit. Pluto has been demoted because it does not dominate its neighborhood. Charon, its large "moon," is only about half the size of Pluto, while all the true planets are far larger than their moons. In addition, bodies that dominate their neighborhoods, "sweep up" asteroids, comets, and other debris, clearing a path along their orbits. By contrast, Pluto's orbit is somewhat untidy. Astronomers estimate that there are at least 70,000 icy objects, with the samecomposition as Pluto, that measure…

Presently, more than 130 countries possess or developing sophisticated space programs, Australia being among them. Hence, being an active UN member and signatory to numerous treaties and agreements regulating outer space activities, Australia realizes the importance of the presented issue. In the age of globalization and significant technological advancements, the outer space derived resources are vital components of daily life for societies around the globe. In order to ensure the exploration of the outer space is for the benefit and in the interest of the whole mankind, adequate measures should be taken to eliminate harmful practices and activities of the states in the outer space. For that purpose, considering, General Assembly Resolution 2222 (XXI) commonly referred to as 1967 Outer Space Treaty , Resolution 1962 (XVIII) on “Legal Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space”, other treaties and agreements regulating space exploration, Australia offers a pragmatic approach for a development of norms of states’ behavior in space. Such instruments aim to achieve and strengthen mutual cooperation, transparency and confidence – building in all activities related to space exploration and space research programs. Australia holds the perspective that outer space is to remain free from weaponization and militarization, and States should avoid taking actions that could endanger peaceful exploration of space.…

Earth, the planet that is said to have the most resources to sustain life. A planet that allows us as humans to be born in and continue to live in as we age because of its amazing resources. It isn’t blazing in flames like the Sun, or composed of rock and ice like Pluto, Earth has water, trees, and rotates around the sun for heat. It is almost as if Earth were tailored when created to fit human need’s, we drink water and breathe its oxygen to survive, we use its plants for various reasons, from eating them, to making remedies, to smoking them etc. Knowing that Earth is a special planet, you would think that its habitants would take better care of it right? So that future generations could enjoy the same resources that we do. Well sadly, that is not the case, we are currently going through a process called global warming.
