A visit to a podiatry clinic is required if any pain or discomfort is present in the feet or legs. Pain is not normal and there are range of podiatry services available for use to improve symptoms. Common problems include heel and arch pain, shin splints, sprained ankles, flat feet, bunions, knee discomfort and Achilles pain. Treatment options available can include various strappings, foot mobilisation and custom orthotics.
H3: YOUR PODIATRY EXPERIENCE
Please bring in the footwear that is worn the most (eg. for work or sport) and any current or previous orthotics. The assessment will take place in the podiatry clinic and will involve a thorough history to attempt to better understand what may be the cause of the presenting problem and to make a diagnosis or multiple possible diagnoses. From this information gathered, further tests relevant to the problem are performed to confirm this initial diagnosis. Podiatrists are also able to refer for specialised imaging, such as x-rays and ultrasounds, to determine the exact cause of symptoms.
