We must walk our ways
But never thought it will be today
I still remember all the times we walked together
And all the time I thought you were my brother
I never thought the road will bend
Until this very second
And what lovely memories I still live in
I remember all the fights we had everyday
And in the end telling nay
It is an honor to have known you
Esprit de corps new
You were noble
And gave me respect which is humble
You were always an obelisk by my side
Even by the rising tide
Remember the Golf, Tennis and Basketball
You never had a bad call
But at last I would like to tell you
“you were as helpful as a beaver we are friends forever”

Today is the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He is one of the great teachers. He is the second president of our country. So his birthday is celebrated as Teachers Day. The word teacher is a word divine. The Vedas regard guru as God. He is seen as Brahma, as Vishnu and as Maheshwara, nay, as Parabrahma. In the word guru, ‘gu’ means darkness of ignorance and ‘ru’ means dispeller of that darkness of ignorance. So guru means one who destroys ignorance and radiates knowledge.
The teacher is an architect. The teacher shapes tens of hundreds of lives. The teacher is a sculptor who chisels pupils into good and great citizens. The teacher is a wizard transforming today’s children into tomorrow’s citizens.
Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; parents only give them life, teachers give the art of living well.
Teaching is a work of heart (pronounce) and a teacher is a person who knows the pupil’s heart. Teachers help you to become what you are capable of becoming. Everything in the world has four corners and a teacher gives us the value of one
