Only 20 years of duty are required before retirement with benefits. One great disadvantage of being a police officer is that many lose their life each year. One can lose their own life or a brother in blue any given day and it could scare one for life. “This job is very stressful, knowing that aspect of the job can leave a toll on you that stays with you long after you turn your badge in.” (Stanley) The career of a police officer is very hard and stressful but it also brings a lot of happiness. Just knowing you’re helping people no matter what you’re doing is worth doing the job. Police Officers do their best to make sure you’re the safest you can be in every aspect of life and for that you should respect them. Now days people claim police brutality is at a high rate. I think this is because of the giant growth of media in the United States. My father was always the policeman people called wanting. He is respected in his field, he did what he thought was in the best interest of the person. He wasn’t one who abused his
