Police Corruption and Reputation
Having a bad reputation can lead to someone being accused of a crime. Bad reputation kind of relates to police corruption, which is another topic I’m going to focus on. People’s reputation is being ruined every day and if they aren’t then people are probably talking around trying to ruin it. Police corruption is another issue that is in the world today still. Most cops respect the authority that has been given to them but some do not. “Police officers are respected and suspected, hated and loved, feared and courted for favor, maligned and praised. Reputation is a very big part of a person’s lifetime and having a good one can get a person far in life. Having a bad reputation can hurt a person’s life and hurt that person’s family. A good reputation has its benefits and those benefits are very good. Having a good reputation makes a person more likable and more attractive to the public. If a person has a bad reputation it will be harder for society to accept that person because a person with a good reputation doesn’t want to hang around a person who has a bad one because then it makes the person with the good reputation look bad. Steven Avery was always known for having a bad reputation around Manitowoc County. Steven and his brothers were always getting into trouble. Not only his brothers but Steven’s whole family was known for having a bad reputation. The Avery’s weren’t made of money, the Avery’s were a poor family and they were known for trouble. Steven and his brothers one night broke into the local pub, stole beer and food from there. Steven also lit one of his cats on fire one time and watched it run around the yard while it was burning up. A poor man with a bad reputation is easy to go after and that’s exactly what the cops
