Pony In The Outsider
“Are you going to start on us?” I shook my head, wide-eyed. “No.” Suddenly she smiled. Gosh, she was pretty. “You don't look the type. What's your name?”
-This line from the book shows that Pony has a good heart but gets viewed differently because he is a greaser. He is a good person, but is shy around people he doesn't really know. This shows his shyness around these soc girls. He wants to be nice but at the same time tough! Ponyboy wouldn't ever do some of the stuff his brothers do but he is involved in what they do. Most socs wouldn't see past his label as a greaser but Cherry does, and sees the good in him.
