When I was in 5th grade we were playing Agusta. One play I had blitzed up the middle and the running back juked to the left so i jumped to the left and stuck out my arm. When I did this he kept running and my arm went with him, but my body did not. Right away I felt it come out. When I started running towards the sideline it popped back into place, but I did not play for the rest of the game.
The next time it happened I was in 8th grade. …show more content…
This time it was at a practice after school. We were doing a tackling drill. When I went to go tackle the kid I hit him with my shoulder and I felt it pop out of place, but this time it went right back in. It was hurting pretty bad, but I just sat out for a couple of times through and then went back into the drill. When I got home I iced and didn’t have another problem with it for the rest of the year.
When I became a freshman I had a couple times that it popped out of place.
The first time that it happened that year was at fall fest. I was running the ball and when I got through the hole I tripped on somebody’s leg. When I tripped I put my left arm down to brace myself from falling. Right when my hand hit the ground I felt my shoulder pop out of place. It went right back into place this time. I did not tell anybody about it this time, becuase I wanted to keep playing and it did not hurt as bad as it had in the past. The next time it happened was at practice when I was running scout team for the varsity. I was running scout team offense, and I was the running back. I got the ball handed off to me and I got tackled by the biggest guy on the defense. When I fell I landed on my left shoulder and it popped out immediately. I ran off the field and had someone shake my arm until it went back into place. The last time it happened that season was the second to last game of the season. I was being dumb and tried to arm tackle somebody with my left arm. I felt it pop out of place, and this time it did not go back into place. I ran to the sideline and grabbed the bench and pulled on it until I felt my shoulder go back into place. I played the rest of that game and the next one
also.
I did not have any problems with it as a sophomore, probably because I got a concussion in the third game and was not allowed to play for the rest of the season. This year however is when I actually tore my labrum. We were playing at fall fest when the first one this season had happened. It was actually before the scrimmage even started. We had just got done warming up as a team, so now we were in our individual groups. I was with the linebackers and I hit somebody with my left shoulder and it popped out of place and went back in. The next time it happened was at practice when we were going varsity offense versus varsity defense. They handed the ball off to Kade, and he bounced it to the outside. I started to run after him, but one of the offensive linemen grabbed my left arm and it popped out of place. When we were playing against Maize in the first game of the season it happened again. I blitzed to the right side, and I got right through the line. When I saw the running back going right by me, I jumped to the left and stuck out my left arm. I got the tackle for a loss but my shoulder stayed out of place this time and wouldn’t go back in. I ran off the field and Doctor Koontz popped it back into place for me. I did not play for the rest of the game after that. I went to the doctor on that monday and they ordered me a brace to wear in the next game. It happened for the last time against Hutch. I saw the play coming up so I stepped up into the hole and met the fullback there. I hit him so hard that he fell backwards and I fell forward. When I fell I put my arm down to catch my fall. When my hand hit it popped out of place and would not go back in. Doctor Koontz popped it back into place for me. I was done for the rest of the game after that. My shoulder never quit hurting after that, so I went and got an MRI. They told me I needed surgery, so two weeks later I went in and got surgery, to repair my torn labrum.
