Conflicts are resolved with “healthy, professional confrontation” enabling staff to air their views and respond to others with issues. “Effective leaders are a bit like cheerleaders for the team, they encourage and support members who are committed and actively with their teams and engage those members who aren’t participating.”…

One of the most important roles in management may be the use of employee motivation. Without the motivation of employees a business can potentially fail or not succeed as it needs to. It is important for management staff members to motivate the employees while remembering that each employee is an individual and that all motivational techniques may not work the same on all employees. Having a range of motivational techniques can help to improve the stability of a motivational method or methods. Performing as a great manager means that the manager is in tune with not only the business and consumers, but also the employees on all levels of the business. Performance consists of those behaviors directed towards the accomplishment of team or organizational goals, or the products or services resulting from these behaviors. Performance is different than effectiveness, which concerns judgments about the adequacy of these behaviors, products, or services. Job satisfaction can be defined as the degree to which a person likes to do a certain job or work activity. Motivation, performance, effectiveness, and satisfaction are highly interrelated concepts, and research has shown that leaders using proper motivating techniques have more satisfied followers who also perform at a high level. These effects on customers often result in increased unit or team performance, such as store revenues and profitability. Therefore a leader’s behavior is related to unit or team performance, but the relationship is mediated by follower performance and satisfaction.…
