Positive Aspects Witin Nationalism
I want to focus on a positive aspect within nationalism; National identity can help overcome narrow tribalism. A common trend today, especially in Western nations, is that populations are becoming more diverse- racially, religiously, linguistically and otherwise. In this process, we have the opportunity to engage, understand and work with people who differences might otherwise separate us. (Wilkens pg 71, 72)
It is the job and honor of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus
Christ to try to make disciples of the people from all nations. The new birth of man 's spirit by
God 's Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Winning the lost world to faith in Jesus
Christ depends on all believers. Making disciples is a Christian duty for the person who has already accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Making disciples is clearly commanded many times in the teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations. It is the duty of every child of God to try always to win the lost to
Christ by a spoken witness. The child of God should also present a Christian way of life.
The methods used to witness should be in agreement with the gospel of Christ. Genesis 12:1-3 teaches us that 1: Lord told Abram, “Leave your country, your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you. 2: I will cause you to become the father of a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and I will make you a blessing to others. 3: I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of earth will be blessed through you.”(NIV Bible) Exodus 19:5-6, 5: Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the nations of the earth; for all the earth belongs to me. 6: And you will be to me a kingdom of priests, my holy nation. ‘Give this message to the Israelites.”
A potential problem with Nationalism is it

When one views the life of the Apostle Paul in the New Testament it is evident that he had a heart to disciple others. The evidence at hand identified Paul as more than an individual who had doctrinal knowledge, for he was the quintessential model for living out the standards of Christian behavior. In his letter to the Church of Philippi Paul encourage them to “Whatever…

William Fay begins the book, Share Jesus Without Fear by pointing out the underlying reason for evangelism. He argues that evangelism is not about bringing people to Jesus or “winning souls” but it is about obedience (p.3), motivated by faithfulness. Fay challenges believers about their “sin of silence” by pointing out that only five to ten percent of Christians have shared their faith in the past year (p.6). He argues that there are two groups of Christians: those who talk to the lost and lose who only talk about the lost (p.8). He encourages believers to talk to the lost and avoid the “sin of silence” and the lack of urgency concerning evangelism.…

It reshapes our understanding of the nature, ministry, and organization of the church”. It is thanks to this missional nature that the apostolic orientation of the church is reveled. Any ministry, development, function, and practice of the church must show the apostolic mandate “to be sent out on a mission” in order to spread the Good News. The Church is here to announce the Kingdom of God and to make disciples in any time, culture, tribe, and…

Share Jesus Without Fear is a book which reminds its reader of their call for evangelism while providing practical and comprehensive instructions on how to share their faith. The book confronts the sin of silence which many Christians are guilty of committing. Instead of talking about the lost, it encourages readers to begin talking to the lost.(p. 7) The authors provide compelling testimonies to encourage and ignite the reader to have a passion for evangelism. Most importantly, the book doesn’t just tell them that they should be evangelizing; it explicitly shows them how to evangelize.…

This mission reminds us that for the Kingdom of God to continue to break in, individual lives need to be changed, while being motivated and equipped for transformation. Our Book of Discipline offers this cue: “God has used our church to save persons, heal relationships, transform social structures, and spread scriptural holiness, thereby changing the world.” When we change lives and introduce people to the all-loving nature of God, we indeed transform the world. When making disciples, the Church welcomes people into community, educates them on God’s call for Christians, and equips them toward using their spiritual gifts to serve as change agents playing a role in bringing about the Kingdom of…

Jesus was more than just the proclaimer of the kingdom of God but He carried the kingdom of God to men thru His teachings and works. The point of emphasis is on the fact that these were Jesus’ own words and actions or those that he sent out in His name. God chose to work thru Jesus. He knew that a new age had begun and this was good news unto man. It was required of men to personally respond to Jesus in faith and discipleship in order to enter the…
