EEO) which means equal employment opportunity; under this legislation, it is illegal to discriminate against anyone because of their age, gender, sexual preference, religion, traditional beliefs, race, colour, physical or mental disability or because of their family and career responsibilities.

Example of applying diversity policies to contribute to a positive work environment include:
.Removing inappropriate material (eg Offensive posters)
.Developing and implementing polices on the prevention of discrimination and harassment
.Ensuring that all staff have access to staff notices, personnel procedural manuals and any other appropriate information
.Acknowledge religious and celebration and allowing staff to take the time off for cultural and religious celebrations/ responsibilities
