Symptoms can include anxiety, confusion, moodiness, low energy, brain fog, nervousness, irritability, and depression. Moderate withdrawal can include the aforementioned symptoms along with physical reactions like headache, nausea, tremor, excessive sweating, and increased heart rate.
The person should refrain from sleeping through the day, not watching TV or reading from a blue light device in bed. Do not drink caffeine, alcohol or smoke before bed time. The person can read a hardback book or make themselves a milky drink until they feel tired and return to bed.
They can take Ibuprofen, Paracetamol or
Aspirin to help reduce some of the pain. Stemetil is also useful for nausea, although travel sickness pills can also be useful. To help with muscle rehabilitation and relaxation, the person should look to go for a walk or do gentle exercise, followed by a relaxing hot bath.
If the person is experiencing chills and diarrhoea, then they should be kept hydrated with plenty of fluids and keep warm.
