This would be classified as a homogeneous shopping product class. The accuracy of a postal scale is highly important. If the accuracy is off valuable time and effort as well as cost could be lost. Items being mailed may require extra postage and may not get mailed and returned to the seller to add the extra postage. Or, if an item doesn’t have enough postage a customer may be charged to cover the cost of the postage shortage. In the business product class it would be accessory equipment. A postal scale could be a direct or indirect distribution depending on the company making them.

Most shingles are made to last 20-30 years. The customer who is buying the shingle in most cases will consider this as a once in a lifetime purchase. There is too much of a risk to not have a high end quality product. This will have limited distribution and direct distribution. Shingles can be a very expensive cost. I live in an area where my local community is a couple of million people. With a population that size we have a lot of businesses that other places do not have. There are thousands of businesses here and several different malls, outlets and Walmart’s and K-Marts. We also have several different Lowes and Home Depots as well. The number of strip malls here are uncountable. I see a lot of the malls are converting from large megamalls to individual stores in large strip malls. When a new business starts up here it has to have location first to survive. Low cost has to also be a priority because there are too many different stores selling like items. We have lots of Sam’s clubs and COSCO stores here as well. Everything is very competitive here. Established retailers have a hard time expanding here and when they do it seem like they are closing their doors before long. New firms open up here all the time and before long will close their doors years later to include. Circuit City, Best Buy, Toy-R-Us, JC Penny, and too many big named stores to list. As the stores first open they will draw good crowds but after a while the crowds die off and before long other business will take their
