To enable students to critically discuss the nature of poverty and its relationship with social policy
Background
The objective of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to consider the nature and causes of poverty.
It then asks you to look at the complexity of this with regard to one area of social policy making.
Task 1
You are required to keep diary records of one current news item per week that has social policy implications. You must submit the diary with your essay.
Task 2
