Position Summary: A Waiter/Waitress (or server) takes orders and delivers food and beverages. This position ensures the quality of the food and overall guest experience is excellent. A server is responsible for all billing and payment processing.

Job Tasks
3 Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set up of linens, silverware and glassware. 3 Perform light food preparation duties including bread, salad preparation, appetizers and desert presentation.
3 Greet guests in a professional manner and provide education about the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods.
3 Inform customers of daily specials.
3 Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving to guest.
3 Serve food and beverage to guests.
3 Receive guest payments and process transactions.
3 Clear and clean tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards.
3 Complete side duties as required including, polishing silverware, restaurant set up, and filling condiments.

Customer Service: Servers must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from guests’ dining experience. This requires practical knowledge of industry customer service standards.
Communication: Servers must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction.
Interpersonal Relationships: A server must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment.
