Pre-Nursing Scholarship Essay
Growing up in a small town in Georgia, I would have never thought I would have the opportunity of a life time to travel to a foreign country. As a young girl I was always on the go and ready for action. Of course I am still that young girl, now wanting to pursue my lifelong dreams. When I first heard about studying abroad my freshman year of college, not once did I believe that I could come anywhere near to studying abroad. There was no way I could financially participate in the program even with the scholarship opportunities provided. As another year went by, students continued visiting my classroom about studying abroad. During the presentations I would highly informed of the many scholarships available as well as grants to help out tremendously. …show more content…

This experience will enhance my people skills and with further opportunities such as this it will also help with my understanding of different people that I encounter within hospitals as a nurse. Not only will this experience enhance me academically and professionally but also it would be highly beneficent to my overall well-being. Although nursing is my major I am a photographer and have a passion for music. Having such a strong passion for art has given me the motivation to capture and enjoy the little things in life. The roaring ‘60s was a very progressive age that brought in new types of music and arts into a limitless culture. Being able to have this firsthand experience would mean the absolute most to most to me. This trip will impact my life greatly, educating me on the beauty of a different culture, becoming a part of that culture as well as making lifelong memories. Receiving this scholarship to study abroad would give me a chance at a better look at life. A chance I could not fulfill by myself. I would be so blessed and honored to receive such a rewarding experience. Thank you for your time.

I would like to explain how I use this amount $ 1000 scholarship as below. In the beginning semester, I will spend around $ 200 for buying used textbooks of Bio Anatomy I and II (lecture and lab). Next, I have to buy the online code of Bio Anatomy I and II (lecture and lab) for assignments or homework as my professors' instruction. It will take around $ 200. With the $600 left, I will pay for my tuition. With the discount money, I have money to save for the tuition fee for next semesters. It is appreciated for me. When I still study in GPC and in The United States, I still have a chance to explore my new life and my new journey here. Thank you for considering my appliaction of the…

In my personal and professional identity I expect to be enriched with openness in the mindset of everyone uniting for one cause. To love, accept and support each other in the fight for breast cancer. Finally, uniting and bringing together peace for those who are in combat and letting them know that they are not alone. There are thousands of people who walk and support this cause and it is essential for them to realize that no matter what culture, race, age, gender, orientation, or even political beliefs they are all there to learn and stand for each other. As a current nursing student and future registered nurse I find that this teaching will enhance my care for patients in a holistic perspective, reflecting on myself and past…

This was an invaluable experience as I was able to develop and enhance new skills. For example I was given the role of a leader to ensure that students were using the correct method on the mannequin. When we were given the task to stitch up the cut, I guided them; making sure that they all had clean hands and cleaned the injured area with antiseptic wipes before stitching. I was also able to enhance team-working skills as it was vital during this time. My communication skills also developed as I had to explain the methods clearly. This was a rewarding opportunity and gave me an insight into the work of a…

I’ve been told by counselors and even family members, that studying abroad is too much of a luxury to afford at this point in time. For a while, even I began to believe in the unfair lie that because of my financial situation, studying abroad is essentially impossible. I struggled with the decision to study abroad; “What If I don’t have enough money to pay for the program, or even sustain myself while abroad? Should I use the money I have for something more feasible? What if money is the reason I’m forced miss out on this experience?” I’ve made up my mind, however, to live life to the fullest and face every challenge head on. Studying abroad is an investment that I am confident will supply me with a life time of benefits. The funding provided by the Gilman Scholarship will both help with the program cost, as well as transportation to the host country. South Korea is a fast growing culture, and I can see its influences now blossoming in the United States. Part of an effective college education is branching out and experiencing different cultures and…

    Nursing Scholarship Essay

Little did I know at the time, my first experience with nursing occurred when I learned to count calories in the sixth grade. It was a slightly misguided attempt to maximize my health. This small understanding of what it means to seek health started the bit of snow rolling that began to collect a bit more snow and a bit more, and it took rolling through much more experience and exploration to turn this tiny bit of snow into the more comprehensive understanding of health, nutrition and nursing that I have today – the large snowball. I’m not going to talk about calories now. The snowball has grown much larger than that, growing much as the field of nursing has grown: to encompass the entirety of health, healing and living a full life. I’m going to give a picture of my background through three important issues beyond the operating room but central to the field of nursing: cultural self-awareness, human presence (care), and critical thinking. These three issues serve as springboards for describing my own preparation for the study and work of becoming a nurse, as well as highlighting my educational goals and career plans.…

I have also mentored students and taught Nepali language to the second generation Nepalese-American. Homework assignments were given every week along with in-class quizzes. The end goal was to make them bilingual so that they could practice Nepali language with parents at home. The time and energy I put into this project has notably shown through the time management, collaboration and communication skills I have acquired over time. Volunteering is such a rewarding and enjoyable experience that I still continue to volunteer today. I study with a purpose of helping others who do not have the opportunity or privilege to the same higher education as me. This scholarship is a stepping stone towards that. Being a doctor is a dream that I have always dreamt of since I was really young. So with this scholarship I can live my dream and help those in need after becoming successful. After becoming a doctor, I have vowed to give back to societies, especially by providing free treatments to poor and needy people in third world countries like Nepal. So, my Long term career plan is to help others “unfortunate” ones and heal them and this scholarship will certainly help me in this achieving…

    Grolsch Global Strategy

Grolsch, a company with a strong history and a highly rated product, has just been purchased by SABMiller. The company is evaluating its global strategy in light of the acquisition and determining how to position and sell its beer going forward. Grolsch has positioned itself well to compete internationally and has leveraged several tools (e.g. the MABA framework, strategic analysis) to effectively expand abroad. However, they must assess whether or not the MABA framework is still useful, what type of international strategy they should pursue (i.e. developed vs. developing markets), and if their adaptation strategies will continue to be an asset in their business development. The initial conclusion, detailed below, is that Grolsch should expand the MABA framework while also leveraging and recognizing the value of SABMiller’s distribution network. They need to maintain focus on international markets, looking at both developed and developing markets to diversify growth opportunities. Success for Grolsch depends on how well they can identify markets where their high-end, premium product will be desirable. But, it will also depend on their ability to adapt the brand image and marketing approach based on the cultural differences of the foreign markets they enter. The subsequent presentation contains exhibits and analysis that support and further develop these conclusions.…
