I choose the Pillbox hat because in many of the drawings of 1950s Women’s Suits I saw that they were wearing them. Also because at the time Women would always wear a hat outside, so I imagine if wanted, it could be taken off in the scenes in the string room. As for the Black Heels, they are classy and timeless, along with not drawing a lot of attention to her feet and leaving the attention of the skirt and jacket. I also felt that the shoes just added and enhanced the elegance of the outfit.
In the play the Father does not seem to have changed in death, so I kept his outfit simple and business like, with a suit. I also decided to use the same colors that I used in Eurydice’s costume.
With the suit jacket I went for a common pea coat/blazer look. I knew I wanted the suit to mainly be Gray, so it would contrast with Eurydice’s mainly Navy skirt and jacket. To give of the thickness I wanted the suit fabric is a Gray Cotton Canvas. Under the jacket is a white button down and a simple Navy silk tie, giving it a professional and classic look. For shoes he is wears a pair of black loafers and black socks to keep the professional look
