She has not organized the driver’s routes, and still will not adopt ways to improve organization. She is not even willing to go from paper to electronic to improve efficiency and lean the entire process. As a result she has created extra conflict that hurts her administrative skills. She is good with her people, but they don’t have the order that they need to maximize efficiency. Her resources are also barely managed, and the only reason things seem to be accomplished sometimes is because of the rapport she has with her staff.
2. Sweet Caroline’s bakery and restaurant seemed to emerge out of nowhere. What role did Caroline play in this? Do you think Caroline could improve her business with more strategic planning? Caroline was almost blindsided by how fast everything transpired. What was just a hobby quickly turned into a job, and finally into a chance at opening a chain of stores. She is almost overwhelmed with one, and if she were to sit back and improve her strategic planning she could very easily be successful. She could hire people to handle the parts of the job that she is inefficient at. With multiple locations spots could be created for a delivery manager, payroll, and even an IT person to integrate everything. She could plan everything out so that she would be able to handle the things she excelled at, which is the baking and maintaining a positive work
