Prince of Egypt
The story of The Prince of Egypt was very inspiring. It’s about the life of Moses. Long ago in Egypt, all new born male Hebrews are to be killed. In order to save Moses, his mother put him in a basket and the queen found him along the river. Moses grew up with his foster brother, Ramses. They were really close and living happy and wealthy. One day, Moses met his siblings. His sister insisted that Moses is her brother, and that he is a Hebrew. Of course Moses wouldn’t believe her, but she sang a lullaby that her mother sang when he was still a baby. He realized that he was really a Hebrew when he dreamt that same night. Looking at the Israelite slaves suffering, Moses killed an Egyptian. He didn’t really mean it, and went away ashamed and confused. In the dessert, he found a burning bush. It was God commanding him to save the Israelites from the Egyptians. So Moses went back to Egypt, and was welcomed by Ramses. Moses asked to free the Israelites, but that’s just one thing Ramses wouldn’t do. Moses then performed a miracle by turning his staff to a snake; but they were not impressed. Moses still tried to convince Ramses, and performed more miracles. Guided by God, Moses and the Israelites headed to Israel which was a sea away. God helped them by dividing the sea into half in order for them to pass. In Mount Sinai, God appeared and gave them the Ten Commandments. If people will follow it, they will be able to live in the promise land with Abraham as their father.

The story of Exodus really touched my heart; from the sacrifice of his mother, to the friendship of the brothers, and to the faith of Moses. If I were Moses, I would do the same thing. Growing up as an Egyptian and later finding out that I’m not.. it’s just heartbreaking and heart-warming at the same time; knowing that I’m really blessed to be alive. The moment God appeared before Moses, he questioned God. He told him that he couldn’t do what God is commanding him to do, but God has the power over

Akhenaten, the so called "Heretic Pharaoh was a Ruler of Egypt during the period known as the 18th Dynasty. He ascended to the throne as Amenhotep IV, succeeding his father Amenhotep III. Akhenaten's brief reign, of hardly more than sixteen years, happened at a difficult time in Egyptian history; a period in which the decline of the previously unparalleled Egyptian empire seemed inevitable. Many scholars maintain that Akhenaten was responsible for this decline, but evidence suggests that it had already started. Whatever his connection with the decline of the Empire, one aspect of Akhenaten's reign is indisputable: his religious reforms. Effectively discarding the beliefs of an Empire, Akhenaten denounced the existing polytheist religious…

The story of Moses is one of the more widely known stories from the Old Testament. The story is found in the book of Exodus and details the life of the prophet Moses. The story of Moses has been the basis of several Hollywood movies. One of the movies, The Prince of Egypt, is a cartoon depiction of the story of Moses. While the movie is very entertaining and will captivate a child’s attention from the beginning, there are not very many accurate details from the Biblical story.…

It was also enlightening to watch him listen to God and accept his fate. Moses was a great prophet. He falls short at times, yet he was finally successful in bringing the Israelites to Canaan at the end of this chapter. His love for God prevailed.…

His was originally named after his father, Amenhotep IV, but decided to change his name during the fifth year of his reign. During that year he changed his name to Akhenaten, which means “horizon of the sun,” or can also be translated to “He who is of service to Aten.” He had six daughters, Merytaten, Meketaten, Ankhesenpaaten, Neferneferuaten-tasharit, Neferneferure, and Sotepenpre. Akhenaten was also suspected of having two more sons, Smenkhkare who succeeded him on the thrown, and Tutankhamun whom reigned after his brother. Both sons were born from different mothers. Exodus chapter 32 through 34 is a very key aspect in the Old Testament. The passage covers a lot about Gods emotions, his mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Not only does it portray who God is but it also portrays who we are as God’s people. Throughout bible class this semester we learned how to observe, interpret, analyze and apply the bible into our own lives. Through doing this we are able to understand the bible more completely and see it from a different angle. In this paper I would like to show how the bible can be interpreted in many different ways using different techniques and ways of analyzing it. There are many benefits from deeply analyzing the bible, such as being able to apply what you learned into your daily life, understanding the bible on a deeper level, and ultimately being able to grasp the origin and meaning behind that passage. Exodus 32 through 34 is a very important passage. The passage discusses who God’s people are, this is very important because it will later help with the “application” step in the process of understanding this particular passage and analyzing it. The passage also discusses who God is. In this passage it shows the many faces of God, such as anger, wrath, forgiveness, love, just, and mercy. God is able to portray so many of his emotions in this single passage because he ultimately loves his people. The beginning of the passage discusses God’s people falling into sin by worshiping false idols, next God shows is anger and wrath towards his people because God becomes jealous. Lastly God shows mercy, forgiveness and justice by giving his people a new coveanant and law to follow and abide by. God wants to have a relationship with his people so he forgives them rather than demolishing them out of frustration even though his people are a “stiff necked people”. This passage greatly affects Exodus as a whole because it shows gods patience with his people. God rescued his people from the hands of pharaoh and wanted to…

King Tutankhamun, the pharaoh of Egypt, died because he was assassinated by his chief advisor, Ay. I know this because of the painting that was found in his tomb. In his tomb, there was a picture of Ay at King Tut’s funeral wearing leopard skin and a pharaoh's crown when he was only a commoner. This proves that Ay killed King Tut because he knew he could be pharaoh if King Tutankhamun died. Also, I know that King Tut was killed by Ay because there were two more deaths that followed Tut’s. King Tutankhamun’s wife, Ankhesenamun, was required to marry Ay but she refused to so she asked the King of Hittites to send her his son to marry. Though before they could be married, Ankhesenamun and the king’s son died. This proved that Ay killed King Tut…

This memoir was a reminder to not take what I have in my life for granted. As I read the trials that Ishmael and other children face in other parts of the world it made me sick. I wish I was lying about the sick part, there were times where I had to put the book down and just breathe and try not to cry so hard at what I had just read. I knew of the trials child soldiers faced, when I was in middle school I was very fascinated by the Kony 2012 movement. Sadly, that movement ended up being a scam but it was educational to me at the age of 10 to be aware that kids my age were fighting to survive on the other side of the world.…

King Tut was one of Ancient Egypt's many kings and he died very suddenly. Or was he killed? There are hundreds of theories about how he died but mine in specific I think he was killed by Aye. Aye could have killed King Tut because he wanted to rule ancient Egypt. King Tut also was erased from history I think either Horemheb or aye erased him from history so that nobody could find out how he was killed.…

    Cleopatra

Cleopatra VII ruled ancient Egypt as co-regent (first with her two younger brothers and then with her son) for almost three decades. She became the last in a dynasty of Macedonian rulers founded by Ptolemy, who served as general under Alexander the Great during his conquest of Egypt in 332 B.C. Well-educated and clever, Cleopatra could speak various languages and served as the dominant ruler in all three of her co-regencies. Her romantic liaisons and military alliances with the Roman leaders Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, as well as her supposed exotic beauty and powers of seduction, earned her an enduring place in history and popular myth. Since no contemporary accounts exist of Cleopatra's life, it is difficult to piece together her biography with much certainty. Much of what is known about her life comes from the work of Greco-Roman scholars, particularly Plutarch. Born in 70 or 69 B.C., Cleopatra was a daughter of Ptolemy XII (Auletes). Her mother was believed to be Cleopatra V Tryphaena, the king's wife (and possibly his half-sister). In 51 B.C., upon the apparently natural death of Auletes, the Egyptian throne passed to 18-year-old Cleopatra and her 10-year-old brother, Ptolemy XIII.…

A Monarchy is a political system ruled by one individual who usually increases his role through inheritance. Although the Athens were ruled by a monarchy until the seventh century B.C.E. it had fallen under the control of its aristocrats. “They possessed the best land and controlled political and religious life by means of a council of nobles, assisted by a board of nine archons.” (Spielvogel 58) Cyrus The Great ruled the largest Empire of his day. He is known for giving his people freedom in Persia. Cyrus took the title Cyrus the Great, King of all, Great king, mighty king, and many others. Cyrus “established Persian control of media, making it the first Persian satrapy, or province. A satrap is literally, “a protector of the kingdom.”…

I have always been interested with anything to do with Egypt, and thought that Cleopatra would be quite a fascinating topic to study. I was interested in learning more about her life and thought it would be a good topic to gain a better understanding of her. I thought the mystery of her death would be an interesting addition to this assignment. To do this I wanted to look at the details of Cleopatra’s life and what events led up to her death. The three main theories of Cleopatra’s death is suicide by snake bite, suicide by poison, and the possibility that she was murdered. I analysed this information, along with the information I had gathered about the background of her life and came to the conclusion that she either committed suicide by poison, or she was murdered. The information is too strong and believable for the poison suicide, however I personally think it is more believable that she was murdered, as people would have more to gain from this, rather than Cleopatra ending her own life over a broken heart.…
