Procrastinate Satire
In some ways that I procrastinate is doing the dishes or doing my homework or doing chores, pretty much anything that involves me getting up and doing something. I believe I procrastinate like once in awhile, for an example my mom asked me to do the dishes at 3:00 in the afternoon I would do it around 3:10, it may seem like I am lazy but i really am not, I mean what teenager wants to wash the dishes. the only time I don’t procrastinate is when I want something, i’m pretty sure every teenager does this. Like take me for an example, my best friend in the whole wide world’s birthday is coming up and she asked my best friends and me if we can go so for that being I don’t hesitate on washing the dishes or vacuuming or doing my homework - nope - I would do what every average teen would do .. I don’t procrastinate. What I blame my procrastination is for …show more content…
I’ve overcome procrastination because instead of staying on the couch and not doing the dishes I stand and actually do them, and to be honest it felt good because I don’t have to do it later like the author said in the article because it's worse in our future because the dishes might pile up even more or you can get in trouble for not getting up and doing it right away overall I think I have overcome procrastination so far. What helped be successful on facing procrastination is actually wanting on doing it and there's not wanting to get in trouble. Procrastination is what drives people from their work, study, and even determination. Focus is what is needed in everyday lives, and though it is tempting to "delay" what is needed to be done, no excuse is worth it so instead of just “delaying it” just do

It’s explained in the first chapter why people procrastinate: vagueness, confusion, and fuzzy-mindedness about what they are trying to accomplish and in what order they should go about tackling it. People need to make list of what they need to accomplish for the day. It could be each night planning for the next day or early in the morning planning for the day ahead of you. Either option is a start. By writing down your list of things to do, you’re able to see your…

According to Paul Graham, in his article, “Good and Bad Procrastination,” he claims that it is impossible to avoid procrastination because there is always something you could be doing, “No matter what you work on, you’re not working on everything else” (86). Graham talks about three types of procrastination: (a) working on nothing, (b) working on something less important, and (c) working on something more important. He says that the last type is good procrastination. He goes on to describe type-c procrastination as being the “absent-minded professor” who, while thinking about some interesting question, forgets to look where he’s walking, or forgets to shave in the morning or even forgets to eat his breakfast. Graham states that “His mind is absent from the everyday world because it’s hard at work in another” (86). He also says that type-c procrastinators put off working on small stuff to work on big stuff. Graham describes small stuff as: shaving, doing laundry, cleaning the house, writing thank you notes, etc. Basically anything that could be classified as an errand. “Good procrastination is avoiding errands to do real work” (86). Graham also talks about why it pays to put off certain errands such as mowing the…

Most of the time procrastination isn’t always a bad thing. It could be good if you use your time wisely and think of good ideas. But on the other hand, it could be bad because, if you just sit around and do absolutely nothing. If you manage your time carefully, you would get done a lot faster and easier. As said in sentence 8, “Dr. Perry generously acknowledges that he has stood on the shoulders of iants, in particular Robert Benchley , the Algonquin Round Table Member. In 1930, Benchley revealed how he mustered the willpower to pore through scientific magazines and build a bookshelf when an article was due.”…

The art of procrastination has troubled high school kids for quite some time now. Im sitting here typing my own essay at the eleventh hour, hoping that as the deadline approaches I can piece together an essay to save my grade. “Procrastination is for the efficient at heart”, this quote captures the procrastinators only strength: the ability to make the most out of the time they have. Most students will crack as the pressure of meeting the deadline with quality work overbears them, as they regretfully wish they spent their time wiser. Few will rise up to the challenge and meet the standards, but what separates the students who succeed and those who miserably fail?…

Procrastination is a trait I have wanted to change about myself for a very long time. I always put things off telling myself I will get to it, which leads to years of stalling. My issue with procrastination has hindered me in many ways, one being, applying for college. I believe a fixed mindset has prevented me from changing this trait because I sometimes shy away from change, therefore leading me to feel as though I have time, which prevents me from achieving those things I dream of. From a growth mindset point of view, I would change this by embracing challenges and believing that my life can be continuously…

Procrastination has become such a bad habit for me. It is hard for me to stop procrastinating. I believe I do my best writing at the last minute. I usually wait until the night before to do most of it. I am usually up late the night before the paper is due. Having things due dates has kept me on task, and keeps me from procrastinating until the day before the paper is due. There was one paper which we had to get sources for a while before the paper was due and it forced me to keep up with the paper, rather than let it go to the last minute. This class has taught me that the earlier you start the more positive your result will be. That was my mistake with the argumentative paper.…

The most significant event that displayed my terrible habit of procrastination is my failure to hand in my Economics homework on time. I only had 2 hours before the deadline at that time, but I thought that I could have finished it on time so I decided to play a few minutes of Tetris. Those few precious minutes spent on playing Tetris caused my failure to hand in the assignment on time as I was only late for less than a minute. In light of that event, I have realized that procrastination is a dominant and destructive force in me, that it can possibly destroy my academic life.…
