do. Such as thinking, actions, and words. If they were to make any kind of mistake they will own up to it rather than make an excuse. They are honest and humble because if they do not understand or know how to do something that has been handed to them they will let the boss know or ask for help. Professionals are not afraid to learn from mistakes to make themselves better at their jobs. Professionals keep calm under pressure. They are not going to be freaking out when something unexpected happens or comes up. Professionals are well groomed and dressed for the correct situation. To me professionalism is keeping commitments, having expert status, and having high quality work.
For example, sports players are professionals. They constantly work hard to get better and better. They dress appropriately for the sport that they are playing. They constantly work and fix mistakes so their spots are not taken from them in the following season. Another example of someone who has professionalism are athletic trainers. They dress appropriately for their jobs. Standing on the sidelines of games waiting to be needed or assigned a task. When a player is injured or hurt they run out to help the player back to the sidelines and take care of the problem or problems. Last example is a doctor. A doctor I feel has the most professionalism out of anything. A doctor is someone who can be trusted. They are giving advice and prescriptions for health. We trust them to know everything about any problems they may encounter. We trust them to prescribe correct amount of medications and to diagnose the patient with the correct problem. Imagine a doctor that has no idea what he or she is doing. They come dressed in pajamas and slippers. Dressing correctly does not always mean you are a professional and that you show
professionalism. Professionalism is how you present yourself. Once again, everyone has different meanings for the word professionalism. Professionalism is having a skill for a certain profession. Someone who can handle pressure and get the job done.
