Professionalism
PVT. IVERSON

What is professionalism to me and what does it mean?
Professionalism is being an expert and specializing in knowledge of ones professionally of their practice. Its about being highly motivated and doing what is asked of someone and fallowing through with whatever is asked. Also showing up early or being on time, in the right uniform or looking like your ready for whatever you would be doing. Looking up to the army values. I think be professional is being in the right place at the right time and doing what is right physically and morally. being professional in the army means everything by the first impression to the way you work and how motivated you are on the tasks at hand, and knowing what you are doing when it comes to certain circumstances Professionalism also means being emotionally intelligent, some professionals need to know whats going on around them and knowing how to be actively listeners, such as therapists. They have to listen to their clients and helping the clients with whatever problems they may have being what ever it is that the clients are dealing with. The Therapist has to give the clients feedback on what they are dealing with and how to help them get over what ever the Client is dealing with. when honoring your commitments is one of the things about being professional. when you promise your boss or someone you are going to do something, fallowing through with what ever the promise is BIG!!! if you feel like you won't be able to keep your word then let your boss you won't be able to make the deadline on your project or letting your family that you can't make it to your family reunion because of work then the first thing that should go through your head is letting them know as soon as possible. Having the right tools for the job is also being Professional. Making sure you show up to work with the right necessities needed. Making sure you're not leaving important documents at home, or even making sure

Like what can I chose to do as a soldier to become a professional in this age of change. “An Army professional is a member of the Army Profession who meets the Army’s certification criteria of competence, character, and commitment”.(ADRP-1) This is the basic definition of what the Army thinks an individual is who strives to become a professional soldier. In striving toward this we as a profession hold ourselves as well as those who serve alongside us to the highest standard. The values that we instill in ourselves as well as hold each other to such as: The Army Values, Trust, Military Expertise, Honorable Service, Esprit de Corps, and Stewardship help us evaluate ourselves as well as others. I have on many of an occasion sat down and simply evaluated myself, my peers, my subordinates, and my leaders to the standards with which we hold so high and so dear. It is something that we all must do so as to follow, grow, and teach those we serve with so as to become a group of professionals. Being a professional in my thought means to dedicate oneself to a calling higher than what one simply wants but for the good of many. As we state in the NCO Creed:” No one is more professional than I, I am a Non-commissioned officer, a leader of soldiers” we are saying to all that we hold ourselves to a standard so as to lead the way in being…

While the word `professionalism' usually refers simply to the quality of being professional, in truth it does not describe a single quality, but rather encompasses many different attributes that together define what a professional is. Throughout my experiences in various physical therapy settings, I was fortunate enough to observe therapists who have not only served as my role models, but have also taught me what professionalism really means. Not only excelling in their duties as physical therapists, every person I've been lucky enough to work with has been kind, accountable, and extremely committed, all of which are traits I have tried to emulate in my work as a volunteer and physical therapy technician. While I observed various displays of professionalism in different physical therapy…

Professionalism is conducting yourself in an appropriate manner. We know that professionalism has qualities that characterizes or makes a profession or a professional person. Basically, a specific set of knowledge and often intensive academic preparations. Based on the article “What is PROFESSIONALISM” (2013), I believe that professionalism is what cultivates an individual’s character to be civil or moralized themselves around a professional setting. It is how someone is to act, speak, or show actions. It is also how someone should do the total opposite, depending on the nature of the situation.
