If you are occupied with work and kids during the daytime, taking night classes is your best bet. Night time college instructors understand that you have a busy life and tend to cater their classes to this. There is usually less course work and the instructors are as a rule a little more flexible.…
If you have the drive, you can get just as much out of the online education as you can from a normal classroom…
If you are looking to go back to college, but it has been a while since you were in school, consider attending evening classes. The instructors usually actively work in their fields during the daytime, and teach at night. This helps to bring a different element of real-life experience to the classroom.…
When comparing online education versus traditional education, the most important factor potential students need to analyze is their scheduling concerns. While there are numerous students who attend college directly out of high school, there is a substantial amount of college bound individuals who already have a full time job and family when they start. The author of this essay was like many other college students in that she had to withdraw from her classes on a physical campus…
These past few weeks at AXIA College online have been great. The resources available are great we have an online library that gives you access to virtually anything. We have some really cool writing centers and for me and my scattered brain, I think it’s going to help me put all my thought’s down effectively. We even have a center to help out for math. The online classroom and campus is so easy to navigate and get used to. I really like the online classroom environment and discussion. It is fun to interact with classmates from around the country. Our online books are cool too! But the biggest thing is the faculty and staff of UOP is really what made this all possible for me from the ease of the enrollment to financial process. I must admit at first I was little intimidated, but after the orientation I felt right at home. I think maybe with your busy schedule you might want to consider this college for yourself.…

I’ve thought about what my strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to online learning. One of my strengths has to be my dedication, when I really want something I dedicate my self and when there is something I truly care about I will do anything in my power to make it work. So knowing that I really want to get my degree and truly care about it I know that my dedication and drive will be my greatest strengths. Of course there are always weaknesses, one of them I believe was my time management. I have two kids, who are my life and take a lot of my time. Since starting orientation I have practiced setting aside my study time and really have done a great job in doing so. As long as I can keep a great schedule I will do fine in the time management area. Another weakness would have to be the online library, which will be a simpler weakness to overcome being that I have unlimited access to it and will spend much time getting used to it.…
My expectations of the online experience have been way beyond what I could imagine it to be. I am thrilled to know that my instructors and peers are open minded and willing to lend a hand when I need help. I am defiantly enjoying the online classroom more than the classes on a campus. I am able to make school work around my daily schedule. I am more enlightened now and no longer scared to take college courses to make my future a brighter one.…
I had to look at alternatives such as online classes instead of on campus classes. Also, I had to analyze each alternative before a decision can be made. While doing so, I found that there were advantages and disadvantages. For example, I can go to school on Tuesday’s nights but I would need to pick up my son from her grandfather’s house after 10:00 P.M. After looking at my alternatives and priorities, I found that the best decision was to go back to school online through Axia.…
I feel the most important thing with a program such as this is time management and getting as involved with your studies and peers as you can. I also feel that this can be difficult at times as well. Without the structure of a classroom and face to face interactions with your peers, it can be difficult to build the same repore with an online program. Lake and von Baeyer's article “Tips for Successful Students" is very helpful in that it defines, in easy steps, how to become a better student. With day to day stressors like a full time jobs, children, and bills staying diligent with school work can be difficult. My positive attitude and organization skills tend to be my strengths and will help me be a successful student. These qualities along with several other, make managing my life and obtaining a higher level of education more attainable.…
When you are planning your schedule, do your best to refrain from scheduling classes that are too early in the morning or too late at night. These classes can be very difficult, as you will often miss these classes due to the time. Schedule classes back to back in the middle of the day.…
Time Management & Application and Motivation & Interaction are important for a successful online student experience.…
It takes hard work and dedication to become a successful online student. Networking with other students that share the same common interest helps with staying motivated in the online classroom. GCU enriches a student’s life by providing the resources and contacts I need to stay motivated. Having access to the tools that I need to succeed helps me to stay determined to stay on track.…
I have attended Argosy University Online since March 21, 2013 to Present. I was a Fulltime student. I'm currently taking my last course with them which is ENG 102. I enjoy taking my classes online. I feel as it is just like sitting in the classroom. When I logon to my class portal everything is there. Currently at Argosy the terms are 5 weeks long. So when I log on I have 5 modules that are one week a piece and have 3 assignments on each module. I participate in a discussion that the instructor puts out and I have to respond to the discussion post and also having to reply to two classmates on their discussion post every week. When assignments are due requiring the use of a text book I navigate under the module that the assignment is due and click on the require text that pertains to the assignment and the text is there from the book. When a writing assignment is due, I normally type the paper in Microsoft word and attach the document into the drop box on Argosy University's student portal and click the drop down box and click which assignment I’m submitting and submit it for grading. If I’m not too much in a hurry I will wait about ten minutes to see what my Turnitin score is. If I have any questions for the professor at any time I go to the left hand side where the modules are and click “Questions for the Professor” and ask my question. If it’s something personal in nature I will send the professor an email.…
The “anytime, anywhere” aspect of online learning is the most significant advantage over traditional classroom (Arbaugh, 2004:171, cited by Brandon & Hollingshead, 1999; Dede, 1991; Harasim, 1990). Learners can process material at any time from any place (Paechter & Maier, 2010:296, citied by Artino & Stephens, 2009; Narciss et al, 2007). For students who cannot afford to take away from their time-dependent jobs, online programs provide flexibility in time and pace of study so that they are able to work meanwhile maintaining the universities’ academic commitment (Sharpe & Benfield, 2005; Conrad & Donaldson, 2004; Kruger-Ross & Waters, 2013). Moreover, by accessing a learning management system such as Moodle, Blackboard, course website, students can achieve clarity about their course information like assignments, test dates to the full extent (Kruger-Ross & Waters, 2013:181). On the other hand, online learning could be time-consuming…
