Introduction of the company and current offers:
Stardom group is an event management company. The company organizes events for its clients. The events usually involve promotional campaigns, new product launch, and trade fair arrangement and so on. The company’s strategy is to grow as responsible company giving priority to socially responsible clients.
Stardom is a project based organization and has a project coordination cell at the central unit. Each event carried out for clients is regarded as a project. For each project, the company has assigned a group manager. Each project follows discrete steps, starting from identifying clients needs, getting approval from top management to acceptance of proposal by clients.
In April 2012, the project is considering offers from two clients.
First, a large event has to be organized for the launch of new brand for Gurkha Brewery. The event must be organized on 15 May 2012. The project needs to manage venue, invitee list, cater party and distribute invitations and brochures. With this event, project can earn a net profit of NRs. 500,000 if it is completed successfully.
Next, a smaller project offer has come from a new management college to launch an inauguration event. The event must be organized on 28 April 2012. The place and catering will be managed by the college. The project has to take care of invitations, banners and conduct final ceremony. For these activities, the project will be paid a lump sum of NRs. 120,000. Also, the college has agreed to offer the company an event manager for one year.

Event management is a continuous process that revolves around the utilization of project management practices, in the creation and programming of events such as conferences, seminars, festivals and business exhibitions (Polivka 1996). It is important to note that event management continues even after the execution of the actual event. Post-event analysis is necessary to gauge the ultimate success or failure of an event.…
