1. Introduction
Abay Comman is one of found in Horo Guduru Wellega Zone. It is located on the eastern part of zone. Today this district is sub-divided in to 31 Farmer Associations. Finca’a is the capital town of the district located about 47km away from the zonal capital shambu and 280km from capital town of Oromia called Finfinne. Fincha’a as an administrative center was established in 1960 E.C when the construction of Fincha’a hydropower dam started. In doing this profile the Finance and Economic Development experts prepared pertinent questionnaire and gathered some required information from branches and zonal sectors. This compiled profile is so expected to provide information about the districts physical setting and its socio-economic conditions that help governmental and NGOs bodies including private investors who needs to undertake development activities. 2. PHYSICAL SETTING Abay Comman is one of the districts found in Horo Guduru Wellega. It is shares boundaries with Ababo Guduru District in the North, Guduru District in the west Jarte Jardaga District in South, The districts possessing a total land area of 79,126 ha. It is divided in to 31 Farmer Associations having capital town named Finca’a. In this district there is one type of soil that is called Loam Soil. Regarding the relief of the district, Abay Comman is highly dominated by rugged topography that in turn affected the road constructions undertaken within the zone. There is one mountain in this district namely Abara mountain and also there is some of platoes such as; Bonde, Jobira and lafto kasa. The altitude of the district ranges between 2444ms & 1350ms above sea level. The mean annual rain fall of the woreda is about 1400mm -1500mm and the mean daily temperature is between 20- 320Co (degree Celsius) of the two years.
