I have selected to work on this topic to portray the numerous applications of mechanical principles in our daily lives. Thales turntable is a musical gadget that is common and would serve as a good example of the applications of engineering principles in the modern world. Linear –tracking turntables uses electronic signals to transmit motions in its several components while others employ the suspended or radial moving to engage other components into motion. It is believed that tracking zero error is a problem in the machine. This work focuses on the Thales turntable tone arm of zero tracking error among other relevant issues concerning the technology. The technology implies the applications of well selected jewel bearing materials to reduce friction and is considered to be beneficial in the following ways, it has: no tracking error which is known to create distortions, has minimum frictions, attributed by the pivot bearings, little or no resonance, due to the shorter tonearm. Furthermore, it enables the application of symmetrical inertia, meaning the arm bears equal and uniform radial force, and this reduces warbling among other negative implications. Thales turntable is considered a major solution in the music industry. Thales applied the theoretical Thales circles tom construct a parallelogram with a pivot at some point and capable of changing the crank angle and reduce the tracking error by an estimate of 0.43º Thales who was a trained engineer and musician applied his geometry skills to produce such technology. He also employed traditional and modern measuring gadgets to compare the accuracy. Hence his original turntable had the following features; fine sapphire bearing, gold plate/coated bearings for smooth finish, a metal (effective) arm, approximately 11 inches and a mass of 12 grams
