Whether it has only effected them for a short time or life long, dealing with depression would make the job ten times as difficult. Not being able to tell others the effects it has on oneself may worsen the stages of depression. Superheroes are usually loners to begin with but having the weight of societies problems and being the one who saves lives could be crippling to ones health. Behind a superheroes doors are where the problems occur that the average human does not and most likely will not think about. Becoming a superhero is a pondering question for all, what if and the powers I would want are. Ultimately society blocks out the bad just to see the good, and not putting themselves in the shoes of that superhero and what they really go through on a daily basis. If the depression worsens will the superhero be able to attend to their duties? Would we all look at a superhero the same if they wanted to live a normal life while not fighting crime?
