According to theguardian.com, boredom can lead to terrible habits and unhealthy behavior. One of these is obesity because of excessive eating. When people are bored, they often use eating to keep themselves busy. Bored people also sometimes become involved with alcohol and drugs. Despite this, these things only happen in severe cases of boredom that don’t happen that often. Just because you’re bored for a couple of minutes at school or work. doesn’t mean that you are going to gain one hundred pounds or become an alcoholic. Instead you’ll probably do some deep thinking or come up with a great idea. When people think about boredom, they don’t think of much except that it’something they don’t like. Little do they know that boredom has multiple benefits that would surprise most. These include less stress, creative thinking, and a want for more interesting things like a new job or hobby. Even though there are a couple not so good things like eating for no apparent reason and drug or alcohol abuse, the benefits definitely outweigh drawbacks. So the next time that you are bored, don’t think of it as a bad thing, but as an opportunity to do something

What Gabler fails to do is define entertainment. What may be considered entertaining for Taylor Swift may have been considered boring by Albert Einstein. And what may be fun for Nicki Minaj may have been considered a waste of time by Gregor Mendel. Different people seek different forms of entertainment, although throughout any form, as with anything in life, there is an upside and a downside. Music can be relaxing and soothing; but play it too loud and it harms your hearing. Watch the History channel and learn a thing or two, or watch Jersey Shore and become influenced by their outlandish behavior.…

Why did I use such a broad category like entertainment? Because I would miss all forms of entertainment. Music, television, and social media play an important role in my life. Music and television are undoubtedly my weaknesses. As I go to sleep, I listen to music; during my preparation for a new day; I have music playing; my car rides are always filled with some genre of music. Then after a long day of school, I come home and walk straight to my television with a purpose, as Mrs. Deidre Hester would describe it. My educational responsibilities are quickly disregarded as soon as I find a program to watch. If there is nothing entertaining showing, do I begin on my school work? No. I find other activities to engage in, whether it be social media surfing, or eating. Therefore, no entertainment is equal to boredom I my opinion. Being trapped on an island with none whatsoever can be good and bad. The bad part is the possibility of boring my life away, and the good thing is that it gives me the opportunity to focus and meditate on…

This theoretically portrays the idea of younger people not being able to do long tedious tasks, without the need to make them more enjoyable. I strongly agree with his point here: nowadays students are more concerned about the enjoyment related to such tasks rather than the beneficial advantages.…

Boredom is a lack of inner interests. I believe that it's true that boredom leads to trouble, truthfully I have experience with being very bored. When I was younger I tended to not have much to do after school I had just gotten out of the play stage and was getting older. Growing out of a lot of childish toys, I tended to look for new things to do. I started to skateboard, joining a special type of troublemaking group. We did a lot of vandalism, creating a lot of messes, and also making people mad in our enjoyment. To be honest I loved it. I wasn't bored, but I also didn't realize that I was being bad in a result of being bored. Leaving that type of group I played sports, a year or two later I began to become very lazy. Boredom will make…
