Pros And Cons Of Being Inspired By A Book
Authors are their books so I feel that being inspired by a book is to be inspired by the author. I would say that there is not one author that inspires me more than the others. The inspiration comes from each's ability to tell a story that grabs my heart and takes it to an emotion level. If an author can make me cry, laugh, and empathize with their charterers they have won my heart.

Lamott explains how writing for her is like creating a present for someone. She wrote most of her stories based on her experiences such as her father’s death, her friend Pammy’s death, and her son witnessing the death of a friend’s baby. For finding your own voice, writers should use their own material and experiences to shape the style they want. Though having an author that you look up to is ok, writers often times try to sound like the author they admire and it doesn’t help make their work original or unique. Lamott says there are two things that put her in the spirit to give: giving a book to a patient in the hospital and being given a book by other writers and then writing a book back to them. I like how she connects giving to writing…

Beatty explains that the reason why books are banned is to keep everyone happy. Books grew to be considered bad because of “technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure.” People were too impatient to read, no one wanted to be offended by anything or offend anyone else, and the thought and knowledge brought on by books made people different, and no one wanted to think they weren’t intelligent The world began to move quicker. People were impatient, and didn’t want to “waste” time reading; they preferred to have “the gag, the snap ending.” As people began to move quicker, they had less time to think deeply. People began to be more lazy, and didn’t want any more knowledge than they thought they needed. The population of the world grew,…

Many authors use experiences from their life as a guide to their writing. It’s a way to express their feelings and emotions, and it’s something in which they can be passionate. Writers and authors think on a different level than anyone else. They are constantly thinking of different ideas for novels, poems or stories. The best writing comes from those who use their own lives as a basis for their writing. They know what to write about and how to describe it perfectly. The best thing about writing from experience, I think, is that, since it’s still a fictional story, you can have an idea about what you want to write about, but you’re still able to add the interesting and fun details you want to. I believe that Louisa May Alcott has written from her own life experiences.…

This quote by Duff Brenna, "All literature shows us the power of emotion, It is emotion, not reason, that motivates characters in literature." To me means that it is emotion that affects characters in literature not reason or thought. I Agree with this statement because many stories characters do what they feel is right not what is logically right.…

Writers use what they know to make their work into something that can be treasured for years. They share what they know, they paint pictures with their words that allow their readers to get a glimpse of their lives and in some cases they use what is going on around them to share what they are feeling, or what they are not feeling. In some cases the writers use other pieces of literature or other people’s ideas to get their point across.…

There are a lot of things that I have read and have influenced me. I think that reading an essay, book, or even just a poem can bring endless imagination. Reading opens endless worlds, and often time helps people in the real world. In “No Name Woman” by Kingston Maxine H., “Two Ways To Belong In America” by Mukherjee Bharati, and “What If Shakespeare Had Had A Sister” by Woolf Virginia, the authors write about how women have been repressed through the years in different cultures and different times.…

With the many things that people read everyday, authors are bound to find inspiration in literature from other writers. An author’s work often influences other authors. The writing of one author might inspire another author to write about a similar topic with their own experiences and insights. An example of this is the relationship between the poem “Sympathy,” the memoir I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, and the novel Speak. The title of I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings comes from the repeating line in the poem “Sympathy.” In the novel Speak, the author made references to I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and the author of the memoir. Among the three works, there is a common theme. All three works have the theme of fighting for freedom. The three…

Books are precious pieces that improve one’s knowledge and help define one’s personality by relating themselves to characters within the text. As Vladimir Nabokov said in Good Readers and Good Writers “The reader should identify himself or herself with the hero or heroine.”(Nabokov, 973) I always believed that by reading a book you become one with yourself by somehow feeling all the problems of the characters and become completely absorbed in their world, therefore feeling like you have a purpose as you read.…

Inspiration is a complicated and complex emotions to break down for analysis. Inspiration makes you go beyond the definition of the words. It goes deeper than the eloquent tying of sentences, and the bad attempt at humor. Inspiration is a transcendent adventure which logically shouldn’t happen. I start off listening to a story and word by word it is less about the story but more about the relationship between my life and the speaker’s story. You start asking yourself; can I do it? What if that was me? What if I changed? And then you have this uplifting and urgent urge to work harder, be nicer, be better. The most inspiring stories and speakers are the ones that talk about failure. Growing up we learn that to make it in life you need to be nothing but successful.…
