Pros And Cons Of Driving To School
Driving to school has been tough because most kids at my school dont know how to properly drive within the lines and park straight, so dodging a bunch of reckless rednecks in trucks and preppy girls in smart cars is a struggle. It's not getting to school that's the problem for me it's the leaving at the end of the day with the other 1,700 kids that drive. Our school population is about 2,400 something and the more kids that decided to try for a parking permit is only making traffic worse. One evening as i'm backing out of my parking spot at school which is all the way at the back of the parking lot , next to the softball field in the corner, I carefully pulled out as i always do pulling into the lineup of vehicles. I begin to pull forward

Getting into high school and becoming a driver is something that is very exciting, although sometimes teen drivers can be dangerous because of being distracted. Many states have looked for solutions to help put an end to reckless, unsafe driving. This is very important and needs to be stopped, the solutions that will help are parents playing more of a role in teens learning how to drive, more up-to-date training and laws prohibiting friends and cell phones.…

Now that we are in the future with more and more people buying vehicles, it’s no wonder it’s a challenge just to drop the kids off at school. I mean ok, most people say avoid traffic and leave early. Anybody else out there ever hear of that saying? Guess what? So have the rest of those snail moving people out there. The major problem lies not because of so many people, but the select few that fear the speed limit. Oh yes, I know you have seen it every day. Maybe you are the one reading this. But is it really that hard to go the speed limit or at LEAST mind your damn business. Minding your own business is the other problem. People can’t seem to figure out traffic build up is also caused by rubber neckers. You know when you see the bright blue and red from the fuzz on the right side of the road. I mean come on, the person pulled over is already embarrassed enough. They don’t need you eyeballing them up and down while you pass. I’m sure that person passed you up going 80 mph 10 minutes ago, only because you were going 60 in a 65 mph.…

Driving down Highway one on a weekend vacation, my wife and I arrive at a little town by the name of Carmel. We decide to stop and drive around this beautiful town. We stop at the beach for a while and enjoy the beautiful day. After enjoying the day we leave the beach and drive a different way than when we came in to the town earlier that day; we get lost. As we are trying to get back to Highway one we turn on Rio Road and come onto one of the most beautiful buildings we have ever seen. We decided to get off and look inside; since we saw a parking lot and a couple of cars parked in the parking lot. When we went inside we found out that the beautiful place we were…

What are some cons for public schools to change the school to an all year round school? Educators shouldn’t make the school an all year round school because the students will get less time to be with their families, less time with their outside school activities, and also more time in school would be harder for the students to pay attention.…

East Porter County Schools are making a big mistake with later school start time. Getting out of school later can cut into the time students spend with their parents if they are divorced. Students should as well be more responsible before school. Kids will also think they can stay up even later. So later school start time is going to lead to bad habits and high levels of stress.…

Driving in summertime is a lot different from winter. Many say it’s easier than driving in snow. At this time many people rather have their air conditioner inside their automobile or some enjoy having their windows down or the sunroof. Unlike during winter drivers are usually unafraid to be on the speed limit without worrying about swerving off the road because of the icy roads. In severe situations when roads become too snowy, this issue will not allow anyone to drive. And when there is no driving? That means no one can go to school/work, this becomes frustrating to some citizens because it steals away time,…

Schooling is seen as a necessary part of life in America for generations, needed to transform the children of the nation into happy and productive individuals. Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with overall performance. According to the Program for International Student Assessment survey administered by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in 2012, the United States ranks 27th in math, 17th in reading, and 20th in science. According to the OECD the US spends more on education than most countries with an average of $115,000 per student (PISA, 1). Unfortunately, that level of spending has not equaled an improvement in education. We have tried to improve our schools with more money, better teachers, and legislation such as No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. What if the true problem with schooling is not the components of the system, but the system itself? In the article “Against School” John Taylor Gatto present several causes for the failing of the American public school system. One of the main causes he puts forth is the institution of compulsory schooling in a system designed to repress the working class, keeping the classes…

Because teen drivers are not experienced on the roadways, their commute to school poses a danger. "The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that 1,717 drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 died in motor vehicle crashes in 2014, up 1.2 percent from 1,697 in 2013. An additional 170,000 young drivers were injured in 2014" ("Teen"). This is an alarming number. This number has the potential to decrease if students were not allowed to drive to school. When the weather conditions are bad, it is even more dangerous for inexperienced teens to drive to school. In my high school, just…

Over 80,000 people in America fall asleep while driving every day, and According to several studies over 50% of those people are teenage drivers. One can easily see while using social media that teens are exhausted from school hours and school work across the nation. School hours are so demanding mixed with sports and academic related activities, this puts a lot of stress on high schoolers all over the country. The overbearing need to receive good grades can lead most teenagers to become gradually more stressed, and eventually even cheat. The main issue I am trying to address here is that school hours are all too demanding for teenagers in this day and age therefore school hours should be pushed back a minimum of one hour if not more.…
