Pros And Cons Of Flat Tax
Republicans and Democrats unanimously agree that our current tax system is corrupt. The countless years of adding and removing policies have made our tax codes more confusing than they need to be. That is why the United States should introduce an easier and more “down to earth” form of taxation, a flat tax. The flat tax is a policy where everyone pays the same percentage of their income annually. Although some people prefer the current tax structure, a flat tax system would eliminate other taxes, allow more people to participate in taxes, and promote economic growth. The flat tax system is not the most beloved solution. Nearly all people who oppose the flat tax believe that it will only benefit the wealthy and would make the lesser fortunate pay tenfold. If a flat tax were to be introduced, people who did not have to pay taxes or those who paid a lesser percentage than the imposed flat tax would have to forge over their hard earned cash to fund the vital services they use regularly (History and Debate of Flat Tax). This is because they are either avoiding taxes altogether or because they are not financially stable enough to fit into a tax bracket. Introducing a flat tax could potentially make their financial dreams come true by eliminating many other taxes that people and corporations dread, such as capital gains tax, estate tax, and litigation tax (List of 9 Main Pros and Cons of the Flat Tax). With these taxes out of the way, many companies would flock back to the states and flourish in the super affordable and loophole-free taxes. As companies come storming back into the United States, jobs will come with. Great numbers of people would be employed, finally receiving enough pay to partake in the taxation celebration. That flat tax would save people so America can live

Why do these corporations want to flee the U.S. tax system? What are the benefits of tax inversion? I conclude two main reasons. Fist of all, the U.S. corporate income tax rate is the highest in the developed world. Corporate profits between $100,000 and $335,000 are taxed at a 39 percent rate, while higher profit levels are taxed between 34 and 38 percent4. The more profits in income taxes the corporation pays, the less money is available for shareholders and for investing in future growth. Tax inversion can help a company lower their tax bills by reincorporating its business in a foreign country with lower tax rate.…

Replacing the progressive rate structure of the federal personal income tax with a proportional one would make the tax more regressive (or less progressive). However, the various exemptions, deductions, and credits must still be considered. Many people who support a proportional rate structure do so as a means of simplifying the personal income tax. It is really only simplified if the number of exemptions, deductions, and credits are reduced or eliminated. It might be useful to discuss how a proportional tax rate structure could be combined with various exemptions, etc., to make the tax more progressive, and whether this is appropriate.…

Lowering the corporate tax rate would incentivize the creation of jobs in the United States instead of overseas, passes savings on to consumers through lower prices, and would also encourage increased investments into research and development in the country. The United States already stands a great disadvantage to the rest of the world due to its high corporate tax rate and without action being taken we stand to only continue down a path of decline in our job market.…

Classical Liberalists think that every man or women is responsible for their own destiny, and that the government should not hinder the individuals, or businesses pursuit of it. They also have no mandate to correct the results of this, regardless of how positive, or negative. They think that people should not be governed differently based on how successful they are. Economic discrimination is a two way street, and wealthy individuals should not lose excess income, or opportunity. This is why they want a flat tax, similar to GST, to replace the progressive income tax we have now. Reform liberalist’s believe that low-income individuals will spend a greater proportion of their income on necessities, rather than luxury goods. Therefore they should be subject to lower income tax rates. A progressive income tax is ideal for a Reform Liberalist, as the increased tax revenue from the higher earners will be redistributed to social programs that provide welfare and equality of opportunity for the poor.…

To begin, the idea of taxation on payrolls can cause several different viewpoints. Payroll taxes are taxes that are taken from one’s total paycheck amount each time the employee is paid. For example, when a citizen works, their total paycheck will be taxed. So, there is money being deducted from the overall total. Payroll tax consists of federal taxes, state taxes, government taxes, Medicare, social security and much more. Studies today have shown more than seventy percent of US families are paying more in payroll taxes than in federal income taxes (Blaricom). This shows that citizens are being taxed more for working, compared to what they are for federal income taxes. Another reason why the taxation on payroll should be stopped is because they are taking money from employees’ paychecks in order to pay for welfare and other government funding programs. The reason why this idea is unfair is because if one has to work to make money, why is the government taking one’s pay to provide it to others who chose not to obtain a job? These programs made by the government fund the citizens who need money for food and shelter. Therefore, payroll taxes are taxes on an employee’s paycheck. These taxes go towards government spending and redundant government funding programs (Ditmer).…

Money seems to be the root of the problems that surround us in our daily lives. Depending on how much we earn from employment that number is concentrated on our social class in society. However, regardless of our social class we all pay a form of federal tax. Federal tax is a tax levied by the United States Internal Revenue Service on yearly earnings of employees, corporations, trusts, and other legal entities. These taxes that are collected contribute to approximately 47 percent of the federal government’s revenue. This money subsidizes national defense and funds federal programs such as welfare and infrastructure. A percentage of our income is taxed according to the amount we earn; it varies from ten percent when making zero to 20,000 dollars to 30 percent when making 50,000 dollars and above. The controversy of eradicating federal income tax involves all American residents…

, it shows us that in the state of Texas, the poorest 20% of the state pays 12.2% in taxes of their income, the middle 60% pays 7.6%, and the top 1% pays 3.3%. Being a regressive state results in having people who have a hard time supporting themselves paying more than people who have no problem with their finances. With an income tax, it would turn the state into a “progressive state” meaning that the people will be taxed based on their income, and it would be an appropriate amount for what they earn.…

Advocates of this ideology say taxing the wealthy will make them unhappy with the country and will make them emigrate to a country with lower tax rate. Proponents of tax breaks say that when the affluent are given tax breaks the economy will prosper because the rich are more likely to spend. The tax break advocates say cutting the top tax rate will increase economic growth because when the wealthy spend their money, growth will occur in small businesses, which in turn causes wage growth, income growth as well as job creation. The advocates say that this all increases the tax revenue for the government in the end, so cutting taxes for the rich is the long term solution to the inequality between the lower class and upper…

The United States of America is the land of freedom, equality, and opportunity for each and every American, with the ability to live the “American Dream.” The American Dream suggests that anyone in the United States is able to follow their hopes and aspirations, succeed through hard work, and has the potential to lead a happy and successful life. Through hard work and dedication, reaching success and wealth is never too far, everyone receives as much as they put in. America is one of the world’s leading nations, with a high quality of government, development, military, and more. Many factors of our nation that put us at the top of the chain come from support of Americans themselves, the individuals living in the United States, through taxes. It is required that anyone who receives an income must pay taxes. Taxes are certain fees or charges that the government requires people to pay in order to live and work in their state or country. The government needs money to operate, and taxes are a way for them to get this money. This money is used to fund various types of programs such as education, military, social security, and more. Each and every American generating an income is subject to pay for these taxes. Although, not every American makes the same amount of money. It isn’t fair for those individuals who don’t receive as much income to pay for the same fixed tax amount as the wealthier citizens in the state. The rich should pay more taxes because they have a greater amount of money.…

A flat tax system would correct the flaws that our current income tax system has and make taxation more equal for all the citizens of our country. The flat tax system will encourage economic growth by avoiding the system that penalizes people for earning more money. It is argued that the progressive tax system creates a penalty against hard workers, risk takers, and entrepreneurs (Fiore, 2002). A flat tax would also spur increased work, saving, and investment, by increasing incentives to engage in productive economic behavior, it would also boost the economy 's long-term…
