Genetically modified Seeds vs Organic Seeds
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) is one of the most important issues around the world. GMOs are special organisms in which the genetic material has been altered for faster growth, product quality, better pest and disease resistance and can grow in the worst of climates. GMOs also carry a lot of cons, such as unexpected side effects, problems with labeling of GM foods, ecological damage. Organic harvesting means avoiding synthetic chemicals and by growing unenhanced plants straight from the earth. The positives of Genetically Modified Organism crops is that they can be cultivated and harvested in less time and in areas with shorter growing season. This can lengthen the production of food in the crop and allow more harvest in area where usually only 1 crop is being grown. As for Organic it takes the whole season to produce one crop. GMO crops are said to be at a better quality. Reasons are they can be injected with larger amounts of essential vitamins, protein, carbohydrates, saturated, unsaturated fats and minerals. This was thought to help with famine worldwide and designed to create healthy eating habits for all consumers. However Organic foods are said to be better quality because the lack of chemicals in them. They are grown free of all alterations.
