Decide if Homeschool is a Good Option Parents withdraw children from school for concerns that are not being managed to their satisfaction. Bullying manifest, basic skills are not being reinforced, not enough one on one interaction, consequently there is dissatisfaction within the public school system. This does not mean that homeschooling is more appropriate, but in some cases it is necessary. It is up to the parent to discover alternative means to correspond to their children’s needs. The typical home schooled child is regularly involved in 5.2 social activities outside the home according to a recent study by Brian Ray of the National Home Education Institute (Butler 44). The more children and parents are out and about in the community the wider their friendship network becomes (Mountney 89). Parents are overwrought about their child building friendships and learning how to interact with other children. School is not the only area to socialize. Parents can take their kids to do various activities, whether it be the library, the park, or to a neighbor’s house. Even a trip with Mom to the market can provide youngsters with invaluable exposure to the lives and daily tasks of adults in the real world (Daily Gleaner 1). As a parent electing to home school their children, they make the preference of where, when, and who they would like their children to interact with.
