Complicated legal issues associated with horse slaughter for human consumption have been debated in U.S. courts and Congress. It remains a hot topic. An overwhelming number of Americans from coast to coast feel that horse slaughter is abhorrent and unacceptable. Until strict regulations are established and enforced, all horse owners, and breed associations should be against US horse slaughter, and also against transporting horses out of the country for slaughter.
