Its use by a formal student is unacceptable. In the article, “Students Admit Using ADHD Drugs for Better Grades,” Sean Esteban McCabe, a research associate with the University of Michigan Institute, indicates “Of the students surveyed, 13 percent of sophomores, 24 percent of juniors and 16 percent of seniors said they’d used prescription drugs at least once (2). McCabe’s point here is that a large number of formal students use enhancement drugs for study purposes. The use of the pills by students is unacceptable due to the fact that the drugs are created for students who have ADHD and other disorders. In the article, “Chuck Schumer: Adderall, Study Drug Use at Colleges Should be Curbed,” by Tyler Kingkade, Schumer highlights the fact that five percent of people between ages 18 to 25 had taken psychotherapeutic drugs like Adderall or Ritalin without a prescription(3). Schumer is reaching to the point that healthy students use drugs that are manufactured for ADHD patients. This is unacceptable, and the process of giving out prescriptions to college students needs to be more serious. Doctors should act more responsible in prescribing enhancement drugs such as Adderall and Ritalin to prevent the unacceptable use of study drugs by college
