First, the slideshow “Understanding the Distracted Brain” from the National Safety Council discusses the major issues with distracted driving. Motor vehicle accidents are among the top two causes of injury death throughout a person's life (Singh). One of the biggest distractions while driving is texting. All of the articles provided several logos that supported their message. The three infographics were heavily embedded with these statistics. My favorite example of logos was in the infographic “Dangers of Distracted Driving” by Kiernan Hopkins. One of the biggest statistics that caught my attention was that in 2010 there were 3,092 people killed and 416,000 injured in distracted driving accidents (Hopkins). There were also numerous statistics about teen drivers. Of all American teens, 40% reported they had been in a vehicle where the driver was using a phone. People between the ages of 16 and 20 are the largest proportion of drivers who drive distracted (Hopkins). These were shell-shocking stats and they really resonate with me because I am still a teenager and fall into these
