1). MicroRNA’s have the potential to communicate within the metabolic pathways causing them to altercate their regulation and expression causing normal functioning to be affected (Jackson et al. 1). The small RNA units demonstrate involvement in oncogenic reactions as the microRNA’s have shown characteristics that are seen within the growth of cancers such as cell death, metastasis, and cell growth (Jackson et al. 2). Furthermore, studies have been conducted by researchers on how microRNA’s are serving as biomarkers for prostate cancer. For example, multiple different microRNA units were chosen to understand their circulation and if certain small nucleotides showed overexpression if their levels were increased within the presence of cancer (Jackson et al. 5). Based on the study, certain microRNA’s showed high signs of elevation and overexpression in connection with cancer (Jackson et al. 5) leading to further understanding of how microRNA’s can serve to be biomarkers when needed for diagnostic
