Description of Personality
The most salient aspect of my personality is being an introvert. I feel that I am introverted because I enjoy spending my time alone, doing quiet activities such as reading and interacting with people over social media. I am not a “party” person. However, I will go to a party, but I won’t necessarily enjoy my time there; I will usually leave early and in most cases I will leave with a headache. Although I do not enjoy spending time with large groups of people, I am the most comfortable while being with a small and close group of friends. I was surprised by the results I thought that introverts would have fared better on the tone identification task because introverts require lower levels of stimulation and arousal that extroverts. I have never completed a tone identification task before, but I would like the opportunity to do so because I would be interested in comparing my results with the results of this study. The second study that I reviewed Communicator Image and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Extraversion-Introversion was interesting because communicating with people face to face (especially in large groups) is not one of my fortes. I am much better at communication when I am communicating over social media such as Facebook or Twitter. I am better at communicating over social media because when I communicate face-to-face I am fearful of saying something wrong, mispronouncing something or stuttering; therefore I find it easier to communicate when I can read over what I am trying to say and make any corrections before I send the message to the recipient.
