The first reason that greatly affects a child’s health is the lack of income in the household. Parents, who generally are listed in the poverty level, have a greater chance of having obese children. This is because fast food is cheaper than home - cooked meals. Unfortunately, it is unhealthy leading to future health problems such as obesity and heart disease.
Another reason for childhood obesity is the fact that they are lazy. There are three causes as to why children tend to become lazy. One is that they spend too much time on their electronic devices; two is that they watch excessively much television and third is that children just do not do enough physical exercise. …show more content…
Another reason for childhood obesity is due to psychological factors.
Some of these psychological factors consisting of girl’s obesity are dietary restraint, compensatory behaviors, depressive symptoms, and perceived parental obesity. (“Childhood Obesity Epidemic” 18) Another factor may be depression leading to overeating. (“Childhood Obesity Epidemic” 18)
