In this paper we will touch on what each disorder or disease, as well as the medications they used to help with them and their possible side effects.
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that makes it sound that you cannot tell the difference between what Israel and what is make-believe. They have upon just being normal whether it is in a social setting or just emotional responses to whatever is going on around them. When someone is diagnosed with schizophrenia a treated with chlorpromazine, clozapine, haloperidol, risperidone, olanzapine,
quetiapine, and aripiprazole. The purpose of the medications help you reduce the symptoms of schizophrenia and give the person with the ability to. Now if any medication are always side effects. These medications currently side effects or sleepiness, impatience, muscle spasms, shakes, dry mouth, and blurry vision.
Depression is when a person has the ability of sadness, anger, loss or frustration with their day to day.
Making a person unable to deal with everyday life for weeks or longer at a time. The medications that are used to help with depression are selective serotonin reptake inhibitor (SSRIs). The side effects for these are decreased sexual desire, as well as delayed orgasm. Serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) can be used as well, and their side effects are increased perspiring, dry mouth, fast heart rate as well as constipation. Another medication that can be used for depression is Norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitors (NDRIs), which have the side effect of increase risk for seizures. They also use different forms of antidepressants which can have side effects such as diarrhea, unsettled stomach, queasiness, sleeplessness, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, fast heartbeat, as well as
confusion.
Mania is when a person has a state of abnormally elevated or irritable moods, as well as abnormal arousal and energy levels. The medications used to treat mania are lithium, valproate, carabamazepine, and olanzapine. The possible side effects that these medications have are slight shaking of the hands, dry mouth, metallic taste in the mouth, tiredness, weight gain, thirst, frequent urination, and under active thyroid gland.
Now we come to anxiety disorder which is considered an umbrella term that covers several different forms of the type of harm and psychiatric disorder characterized by excessive worrying, and easiness, apprehension, and fear about possibilities of the future.
These fears can be anything from being based on real life or just imagined events that they see possibly happening. The most common medication used to treat anxiety disorder as Xanax. Now just like everything else that you have read in this paper Xanax can have the side effects as well such as tiredness, lightheadedness, the feeling of being tired or irritable, blurry vision, possible headaches, problems with your memory, trouble with the ability to concentrate on tasks, sleeping problems, possible problems with the swelling in your hands and feet, possible muscle weakness, not being to have balance or coordination, slurred speech, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, increased sweating, dry mouth, stuffy nose, as well as loss of interest in
sex.
Tourette syndrome is a condition that makes people make repeated, quick movements or sounds that they are unable to control. It is said that there is no cure to help control the tics that effect a persons day to day life. The medications that are used to help control the tics so that these people can function in their life are possible medications that block or depleate the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain, and the side effects of those medications are weight gain and dulling of the mind.
In this paper we have learned about many disorders and the medications used to either control them or help the person with that disease or disorder have some way to try to live what everybody calls a normal life. This paper gave us an understanding of what each of the desaeses and disorders were as well as their possible treatments that they had if they had any at all. Some of the things that we learned about was shocking to see had no actual cure and that they would have to deal with their problem or illness for the rest of their life.
