At the end of the 19th century naturalism with its scientific point of view developed more superlative romances, and outlooks on human life. Naturalism is written so the characters are perceived as low social and economic classes. These economic classes were determined by their environment and hereditary. American authors such as Stephen Crane created America’s first naturalistic novella, “Maggie a Girl of the Streets. These novellas were of abnormal lives, which portray woman and men, their passions, sexuality, and living conditions. Crane constructs observations in detail. His works are psychologically complicated, with conflicting impulses and drive of human beings.
