I. COURSE STRUCTURE: IB Psychology provides students with the opportunity to acquire an understanding of human behavior, behavioral interaction, and the progressive development of individuals. The content will include levels of analysis of biological, cognitive, sociocultural, abnormal & health psychology. Conducting an experiment is required for the course.
II. UNITS OF STUDY: From your text we will cover the following (subject to adjustments):

Methodology & Experimentation- Ch. 1 & 11
Biological- Ch. 2
Cognitive- Ch. 3
Socio-cultural- Ch. 4
Abnormal- Ch. 5
Health Psychology- Ch. 7
III. THINGS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
1. textbook, entitled, Psychology Developed Specifically For The IB Diploma.
2. supplement, entitled, Psychology, Course Companion, by John Crane & Jette Hannibal.
3. Ink pen, notebook paper, 3 X 5 note cards
4. box of tissues.
IV. COURSE PROCEDURE:
1. Homework- it is essential that reading assignments be completed. Outlines are not mandatory but may be crucial at exam time. .
2. Tests will consist of multiple choice & essays that are practice questions from past exams.
3. An experiment is a requirement of the course. Instructions will be given out at a later date, along with the due date for the final papers. The final report will be due in sections. Late work will not be accepted.
GRADING: Grades are calculated based on the following:
Homework- 30% quizzes- 20%
Tests- 50% (be aware that HL-2 will not have a grade in this category for the first grading period).
Grades will be posted, on average, weekly, by student number. Also, grades can be viewed online at any time.
PARENTS: With the availability of interims, report cards & parent portal, it is the parent’s responsibility to monitor their student’s grade. If there is a concern over a particular grade or the entire grade, it is the parent’s responsibility to contact me either by email or by phone.
