Muslim Americans.” says the article Islamophobia by Nicolas Brooklier in December of 2015. “In the United States, for example, at least 75% of African Americans have White ancestry, and 1-5% of the genes carried by American Whites are from African ancestors.
From a biological point of view, then, Blacks and Whites comprise a continuum rather than a dichotomy. Nonetheless, a false belief in the purity of racial categories has enabled Whites to mistreat Blacks for centuries without realizing that in many cases, they are harming the descendant of a White person.” says Scott Plous in his article on Understanding Prejudice, published in 2002-2017. This evidence shows that if you are discriminating a different race other than your own, you could definitely be discriminating your past self. Although our community is being prejudiced because of color and is falling apart we still have hope in coming together by support for each
other. Sometimes, even if you don’t get a big success, you can leave somewhere better off no matter how hard it was to show up. In the article Life of REilly by Rick Reilly a team of football from a juvenile prison faces off a team in Grapevine, Texas to be surprised as the team with the cheerleaders and crowd on their side. “More than 200 Faith fans sat on the Gainesville side and kept cheering the Gainesville players on—by name.” the article states. This experience was the best thing they have had in a long time because of the time they had to give in prison. The team had a season of 0-9 but for that they were the happiest team, i’m sure anyone had seen, from a loss. People and their identities are changing because of others actions, prejudice, and stereotypes in our community. Some of our biggest discriminated groups are differents colors, different religions, and different opportunities. I hope that in our near future we will be able to help out our nation by changing the way we act to be better and stop discrimination against different people and communities.
