Neuropsychologist use methods to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate individuals with suspected or demonstrated neurological or psychological problems. 2. Sensory information from the left side of the body crosses over to the right side of the brain, and vice versa. Left brain functions are those of analytic thought, logic, language, reasoning, science and math, written, numbers and skills, and right hand control. The functions of the right brain are art awareness, creativity, imagination, intuition, insight, holistic though, music awareness, 3-D forms, and left hand control. Contralaterization is where the left side of the brain controls movement on the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls movement on the left side of the body. The cerebral cortex is your brains control and information processing center. 3. The two major subdivisions of the Nervous System are the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system consists of the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. The central nervous system communicates with the body’s sensory receptors, muscles and glands through the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system interprets sensory information along with dictating motor responses. 4. The three major parts of the brain are the cerebrum, cerebellum, and the brain stem.
