Curriculum Plan
Mission: The Mission of Pierpont Community & Technical College is to provide opportunities for
learning, training, and further education that enrich the lives of individuals and promote the economic growth of our service region and state. The PTA program supports the mission by preparing graduates to be licensed as physical therapist assistants and work in any health care setting so that the physical therapy need of the citizens in our service region can be met. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the PTA program the graduate is expected to 1) Exhibit conduct that reflects practice standards that are legal, ethical and safe; 2)Implement a plan of care established by the physical therapist; 3)Demonstrate competence in performing data collection through tests, measurements and observations; 4)Use verbal, non-‐verbal, and written communication in an effective, appropriate and capable manner; 5)Demonstrate professional behavior through integrity, service and the ability to assume appropriate responsibility; 6)Demonstrate the cognitive knowledge basic to physical therapy intervention.
