Using public transportation vs. driving your own car
What kind of transport do you think is the most appropriate for you? Nowadays, people seem to be always in a hurry, just enough to be part of the unbearable traffic every morning in Lima, to realize this. There are two elements that are accurate to mention before establishing a comparison in terms of means used, time and money. As I could see, these days people prefer using their own cars instead of public transportation. However, I think that using both, have pros and cons. In fact, the public transportation system is really disorganized but it has an economic advantage to a large group of users. By the other hand, driving your own car is significantly time saving.
First of all, I would like to mention the public transportation, as the most common way of moving. Due to the growing demand of this transport in Lima, it has become a mess because of the lack of the government oversight. Despite this fact, for more than the half of users of this transport, is the only way they have to get into any place, for others it is not the only one, due that they also have transported by the “Metropolitano” and the electric train. One of the significantly advantage is the cost of the service, the price assigned to the metropolitan public transport is somehow accessible for all socioeconomic levels in Lima. By the other hand, majority of private companies that provide the service, do not have any standard of service quality. Many times, routes covered by these vehicles are not the most appropriate and the staff who work on it, often do not have a minimum level of good treatment for us, the customers. Going deeply, in the last 10 years, the traffic has become an incredible phenomenon in our city, which has real consequences as significant loss of timework and on the other side, diseases such as stress. So in other words, this public transport has an economic advantage and is also accessible to the
