Interestingly when most of the Indian tribes were forced to move away from their homeland and relocated to other areas, Pueblo tribes were not moved or relocated. Many of them are still in the original area of their homeland today.
The traditional
dress for the pueblo tribes include the men to wear an animal skin garment that is tied at the waist to cover the front of the genitals and moccasins made of animal skins. The ladies of the tribes would customarily wear a cotton dress that was tied on the right shoulder leaving the left shoulder exposed. The ladies also wore traditional moccasins of animal skins on their feet.
Most of the Pueblo history took place before the written word so most of the information we have today is based on the finding of the Archaeological findings and the stories passed down within the tribes. It is believed the original Pueblo Indians go back as far as A.D. 750-900.
