Punctuality
Punctuality in the academic domain is etiquette as it is a habit of doing things on a timely manner, keeping in mind the importance of time. Students ought to be punctual since it is the key to success. One of the causes of punctuality is procrastination, which is the lack of seriousness on the partial part of some students who take things lightly. Work accumulation is also brought about by improper planning of tasks; hence further delays are brought about (Stansfield 10).

The effects of not being punctual have some repercussions which include tension building that gives way to stress and fatigue to learners and hence their concentration is diverted. This will spill over to their rates of performance since they are preoccupied with other things which are irrelevant to their learning. Build up of tension among students is not good since they will behave in a manner that is not appropriate and as such will break the rules and regulations of the school. This will lead to their expulsion from school which brings down their chances of education. Students need to be stress free when in school so as to attain the best grades and grasp what is taught since it will be of help to them in future (McKellar 120).

Architectural students who are not punctual are not accorded respect by their fellow classmates hence they loose their dignity, fame and self esteem. These students will see themselves as having no place in the society due to poor interaction with other members of the society. Loss of self esteem for these students affect their lives after school and as such, they will be forced to engage in illegal activities like drugs thinking that it is a way of rejuvenating their lost self esteem. Fellow students will not involve them in class projects for fear of them not presenting their parts in time which will affect their final grades (Marjanovic et al., 5)

Being late will result to one being called a Lathief and it will be difficult for one to attain the desired

The art of procrastination has troubled high school kids for quite some time now. Im sitting here typing my own essay at the eleventh hour, hoping that as the deadline approaches I can piece together an essay to save my grade. “Procrastination is for the efficient at heart”, this quote captures the procrastinators only strength: the ability to make the most out of the time they have. Most students will crack as the pressure of meeting the deadline with quality work overbears them, as they regretfully wish they spent their time wiser. Few will rise up to the challenge and meet the standards, but what separates the students who succeed and those who miserably fail?…

Being on time is very important. If there is important information that I need to know at a certain time and I show up late I risk not knowing the things I need to know. For example if I was told to be up at the TOC to get information on a mission and I showed up late and missed that information, I could be putting my battle buddies in danger. Or when I am told to be on time for extra duty and I show up late I show that shows irresponsibility on my part because it makes it look like I do not care. I did the crime so I have to do the time that is put before me.…

Being on time is important in everything you do especially in the military. By not being on time you can cause problems for not just you but other people as well. For instance if you are to be replacing someone and you are not on time you can make that person late because they had to wait for you. By just one person being late can disrupt the events of an entire day. An example of this is a platoon is going out to a field exercise for training and a soldier is late by fifteen minutes that can cause that entire platoon to be behind in getting out to the field exercise disrupting the agenda set by the platoon leader and platoon sargent. If you are late to an appointment you are taking up valuable time that could be used by another person. Another reason it is always important to be on time is if you are going to a job interview and you are not on time you could loose the position because it is a first impression of how your work ethic could be. Even if you just make plans with some friends to see a movie, you should be on time because if you are late you and your friends will miss part of the movie. In the military you can receive sever punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for not being on time. Some of the consequences can include loss of rank, loss of pay, and having to pull extra duty while under restriction. Repeatedly being late in the military could lead to a discharge from service. Similarly if you are constantly late for civilian employment you will face punishment that could include having your hours cut back, your earnings garnished, or possibly fired from that position. After creating a history of being late to a point that you are let go from your job, it can become difficult to find future employment due to the fact that employers will contact your previous line of employment to find out why you were released from your position within that company. Further more after making a history to your friends, family and your employers of not…

Procrastination is one of the biggest reasons that a student does not have good academic success. Procrastination is defined as putting a certain task off until a certain deadline arrives. Such as, if a student has to have a report or speech done by a certain date and has known for three weeks but delays in getting it done until the day before it is due. Doing this usually results in a bad grade for that paper, which could bring the student’s overall grade down to not passing. In my own experience with this problem, I have found it is easier to just do the work after you find out it is due rather than waiting until the last day. Such as, I had a buddy in high school that would hear about the assignment and would delay in getting it done till the day it was due. Yet, he would complain that he never had enough time to do the work required to complete the assignment.…

As I read this article, it actually made me laugh because some of the excuses I have used myself. Although it is bad to turn in an assignment late, it is not bad to make an excuse to make up for it. After all, it’s all for our sake. If the instructor let us go with it, then we’re good. But that doesn’t mean we can do it again. In this kind of situations, first is alright, but never expect a second time because any instructors would definitely doubt a second time. This article is an irony because it shows how the excuses made the teachers believe to not believe the students as time…

Tardiness is a growing problem in American schools. “The U.S. Department of Education, in the latest available report, shows that tardiness is a moderate to a serious problem . . .” (Light, 2006) When students arrive late to class, not only do they miss out on instruction, but they interrupt their teacher and fellow students when they come into class late. The problem goes beyond interruptions and missing instruction. When students habitually show up late, it sends a message that school is not a priority for them. It shows irresponsibility and lack of respect. By allowing students to arrive late without consequences, students are being set up to fail once they enter the workplace where punctuality is a requirement.…
