TOURISM
The park, some accommodation and camping facilities and the underground river are accessible through bridges, trails, and boats. Visitors can also enjoy bird watching, mountain trekking, and exploring the deeper part of the forests.
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River within the National Park is a popular tourist destination, accessed through either hiking 5km through the jungle, or hiring a boat as part of a tour. The breathtaking Underground River tour departing from the nearby village of Sabang takes visitors into the first 1.5km of the cave on a canoe and if they wish to go as further as halfway through the river, they will need to have a special permit.
THE ARTS
In the first Lord of the Rings movie, the Waiau River represented the River Anduin as the Fellowship paddled south from Lothlórien. The surrounding high peaks depicted the rough country south of Rivendell.

Purnululu National Park
Purnululu National Park is located 300 kilometres by road south of the small regional town of Kununurra. It is located in a semi-arid landscape represented by a diverse array of landforms and ecosystems that support a range of distinct vegetation, ranging from the desert shrubs along the Bungle Bungles Range’s plateaus to the rainforests along Osmond Creek valley. Across the landscape sweeps a maze of majestic beehive-like domes of sandstone karst, soaring up to 300m above the surrounding plains. Monsoonal downpours spark seasonal, natural waterfalls and pools with names such as Echidna Chasm, Piccaninny and
