Alan Chen is a leading national expert in free speech doctrine and theory, the law of federal courts, and public interest law. The source describes how Qualified immunity need to be reformed, but it also discusses how previous attempts to reform has not worked out and why. This source provides insight into the procedures of how police officers interact with people they arrest or pressing charges on them. The source also goes into detail on how the state uses “obstructions” and intimidation into trying to persuade people to not press charges.

Robin Wagner is a lawyer at lakeshore legal aid. In this article it discusses how qualified immunity does not always have clear laws or definitions for actions. Understanding the doctrine also becomes more difficult when dealing with a case involving sexual orientation. By implementing this source it can be used to get a different perspective from a minority other than African Americans. It makes the the paper more relevant because in the last year there have been many new changes involving court cases and rights for the LGBTQ community.
